Happy's Place, Reba McEntire

With the show’s premiere episode garnering 14 million viewers across all platforms, NBC has ordered five additional episodes of “Happy’s Place,” starring country music legend Reba McEntire, who also appears as a judge on “The Voice.”

The five-episode order brings the total number of episodes ordered for the 2024-2025 television season to 18 episodes, NBC notes. A decision on whether there will be a second season will be made at a later date.

According to the network, “Happy’s Place” has improved its time slot (Fridays, 8:00 p.m.) by +90% and +88% in the key Adults 18-49 demographic since the show’s Friday, October 18 premiere.

The series tells the story of Bobbie (McEntire), a woman who inherits her father’s tavern aptly called “Happy’s Place,” only to be shocked to learn that as part of the deal also gets a new business partner, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), a twentysomething half-sister she never knew she had.

In addition to McEntire and Escobedo, the comedy series also stars Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn.

Produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, “Happy’s Place” was created by writer Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott, the series is executive produced by Kevin Abbott, Reba McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry and Pamela Fryman.
