As if I won't watch that all over again after this hectic work day. lol.

Not going to lie. I watched this one a week or so ago. lol. I thought it was well done if funny. I am sure it's in my FAVORITES list, too.

Technically no. But I do like it when soaps go for it at end of summer anyway. Keeps us fans on our toes.

Sonny killing Jagger point blank in cold blood totally undermines so many of his relationships from the 90s. Sonny is a monster and should be taken down as such. It's stunning that this character passes as a soap opera lead in this day and age, as the "good guy." But I guess the audience is so tiny, that there won't be much blowback, if any. That the producers think this is what that tiny audience wants to see though is amazing; it is not. Instead of having characters do the same trash over and over again, how about we see them evolve?

Well, what if this is the set-up to usher him off? He shoots a Fed. He is arrested & charged. He gets bail.

Brennan told Jason he would want something from him & they would talk again. Jason goes to Brennan to see about him breaking Sonny out & making him vanish into thin air, i.e. he & Brenda go to some country with no extradition treaty.

At the very least I'd have him leave the mob, re-evaluate his choices, and have a realization Brenda was the love of his life.  He then goes and finds her, wins her back after a lot of hard work, and live their life in Rome or wherever.  THE END.

So, for that to be remotely possible: Jagger had on a bulletproof vest & is fine. Sonny was only charged with felonious assault & attempt to kill. Diane gets him a sweet deal where he serves his time in a Federal white collar prison. He only serves 5 years of a 15 year term & when he gets out, Brenda is in a white limo with a driver waiting for him ... Nearly the End.

Yup.  Groveling levels of hard work.  I absolutely want those two crazy lovebirds ending up together in the end.

It's just really hard for me to buy that any sane, successful woman in 2024 would still want Sonny.   The show would need to at least try to reform him.

I doubt it's happening anytime soon.  I really do wonder where Sonny as a character is going.  He seems pretty unredeemable right now if Jagger is truly dead.

I want a cake and eat it too ending for Sonny. Let him and Brenda reunite. They have their third wedding, happy couple stuff for a few months while we create a life around Brenda. And then boom- someone wants the territory, Sonny is shot and killed protecting Brenda. He can even take out the shooter too for MB’s ego.

That leaves us with Brenda picking up the pieces, and exploring why she keeps ending up with men like this while hating their violence (Sonny, Luis Alcazar, Balkan’s son, even Jax is kind of dangerous with his brother around).

Speaking of Sonny- I can’t stand him. But if he is going to be there, I would rather he be what he is, a remorseless killer. No pillar of the community mobster. And him killing Jagger was fine with me. The actor was wasted on a role that was history in name only. That’s not his fault. End result is the same to me though.

I will give the new team credit, it’s been consistently watchable since Kristina threw Molly and TJ’a baby out the window. While it is lacking in deep characterization and beats are being skipped again, it is very watchable.

I have felt this way since AJ and crypt sex with Ava.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
