Well said!!! I think you articulated it better than I could have.

Business stories need to go for sure. The newest most ridiculous thing is Victor telling Audra to move Glissade from Paris to GC…..? Didn’t we have this weird pointless garbage with Marchetti moving to GC from Milan. WTF?

Other than MS, JM, and MO I’m fine with the current cast and characters. It’s the incompetent writing & production holding this show back and it won’t be solved until JG & Kent are gone. Are we really stuck with this through 2028 again?

Oooooooooooo that's what you all were talking about? And honestly? I can see Chelesa doing that. It should say something to how Adam has been written and MG's acting that I just don't see him sleeping with Chelesa when he's head over heels for Sally and chased her so much during the Nick/Sally/Adam triangle. Totally plot.

That said...given how JG has been doing everything to push Billy into plot...I was expecting something. And also Billy is swimming around Lily again. So it was making me go hmmm...would there be a Chelesa/Billy/Lily/Adam/Sally quintet? Now I am wondering.

On another note, FINALLY!!!! It looks like the writers are playing to AL's strengths again. Loving it. The stuff with Claire being a nanny. And now, Summer being on the warpath with Kyle. AL Summer is coming across as she's about to go force of nature and I am looking forward to it. She's been looking fierce, too, so bonus!

We know I'm enjoying all the Traci stuff.

You know what? I've been sitting here complaining about how much I dislike how the writers created this stupid story about Kyle and Diane. Because I cannot stand that he's acting like a spoiled brat over something HE set in motion. And Diane is in her right to stand up for herself.

But some time the last few episodes, it occurred to me...we got Kyle back!!!

When Kyle first returned in 2017, he was crafty, cunning, and his father's son. And I'm seeing some of that again. Him trying to make moves behind Audra's back. Him going in on Jack. The smugness of it all. And MM is actually lighting up again. I can't hate that.

And I hollered at Victor mentioning 'the chair' to Jack. Those two feuding again. Dare I hope that knowing that Victor bought that company to compete with Jabot, we can get an actually business story out of it?

Drew changing his name over on GH, and now Claire? Hmmm. It's funny how soaps can be sometimes...

ETA: Danny and Chris in Paris now??? They are really keeping those sets around, aren't they?

And I said what I said last time I posted...it still is totally believable that Chelesa would cheat. Adam...not so much. And MG is playing the guilt well.

Totally agree haha I’m just now all caught up myself and was wondering your thoughts about the past week or so!

I agree it’s nice to see the show writing for MM and AL’s strengths again, even though Kyle’s story is terrible and all about himself. That said if Kyle gets reduced to being Audra’s errand boy/sextoy again at her beck and call until she tosses him aside, then he deserves it LOL.

Speaking of Audra, @Taoboi look for the 7/12 episode to have a good and fun ending to it when we finally get the Nate and Audra scenes we’ve been waiting for.

While I like Summer is plotting to stick it to Kyle, this is where I wish the show hadn’t unceremoniously dropped Chance to recurring or get him into business as custody story would work better with him as a cop in the mix and provide another male perspective instead of just seeing Kyle  stuck between Claire, Summer, and Audra.

I agree with you on the Adam/Chelsea stuff it’s rather unbelievable and unnecessary. Grossman’s Adam is so different and just never had chemistry with MCE. The only time Adam & Chelsea really worked was during the Hartley years when Hartley and MCE were just electric together and likeable at a time when a good chunk of the show was insufferable (Hello Nick & Sage!)

A good reminder was back when MG Adam and SW Diane shared scenes and mentioned their past that had occurred under MM Adam and MW Diane, and it was super awkward as heck LOL.

Onto this week, I liked that Katie still wasn’t totally accepting of Claire but did like their relationship building scenes.

Uh oh at Sharon I don’t like what I’m seeing here. It looks like JG may finally have a story developing for Sharon, but is she on the way to back to crazytown?

I admit that I was worried about my interest the post-Ashley climax. So I am surprised that I still have so much to enjoy right now. And Sharon getting a storyline might hold me, but I don't like it seems like it's another crazy storyline or even tied to Cassie unless it turns into a search for her father.

Same. re: Kyle I could tear this storyline with him and Diane down all day, every day because it makes no sense. But last week, MM lit up some time last week, and he's been hell on wheels since. And I hate the storyline, but I actually like it. It makes him matching wits with Audra now even more interesting since she's dealing with RealKyle...not the watered down one we got over the last few years. Meanwhile, loving the writers remember the powerhouse they have in AL and her acting and are writing to it again.

Oh? re: Nate/Audra. Intrigued.

I miss Chance being around for sure and still wish he was a cop. And CF is a fox. Use it!

I left Y&R before Hartley's Adam. I've seen very little clips but I liked what I saw. MG and MCE have good co-parent chemistry, but I don't need to see anything else. I guess anything to give Billy a story though.

Same. Knowing what I know now about Daniel & Lily redux being blown up for nothing, in retrospect maybe Billy and Lily just should have stayed together in the first place, at least she keeps him in check most of the time.

Billy is like an albatross to the show at this point when he doesn’t serve a clear purpose. I think the show would do well to stick him back into the Jabot mix with Kyle on the outs.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Quit!!!! I'm trying to not read Y&R, but I was so upset with how the Lily/Daniel/Heather story went down in the end (and @DramatistDreamer gave them an excellent outline that they were following to the letter, too

Please register in order to view this content

). Light spoilers sound like Daniel about to get a story at least because it seems like all the potential storylines with him, Heather, or Lily or all of them together has just washed away in the tide. I definitely am liking Billy with this more vicious version of Lily, but it looks like Lily is about to come down again so le sigh.

Very. I would suggest that, but Kyle's head would reeeeaaallly explode at that methinks.

YOU BETTA BRING YOUR A-GAME, AL AND MM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cuz that was HOT!!!

But just as hot...was Nate and Audra. I really enjoyed their scene today. He was giving some pretty good advice to her. I mean Tucker. Now Kyle. She's playing a dangerous game for someone who plans to be the HBIC.

I'm wondering if Faith is back for whatever Sharon's story is going to be, or is Faith going to be getting a story of her own? I assume her and Lucy being around each other is for a reason outside of Sharon. That said...I can't figure out what Sharon's story is going to be. Yet. At least with Ashley's storyline, Eileen Davidson was deliciously dropping hints to the audience before the audience saw the story in story. I don't have a clue.

BUT back to Kyle vs Summer!!! Oooooo that was so good. And Kyle was nasty AF for throwing the fact Summer is not Harrison's biological son in her face. And Summer was on point when Kyle tried to deflect by throwing Summer's feelings for Claire in her face. The acting. The inflections (especially surprisingly MM) in their voices. Some of the camera angles were straight out of old Y&R scenes. I really loved their fight. Summer being on a warpath is bringing out the best in AL.

Let me start by just saying that Devon is an a$$. LOL!!!

I should have known this from how much I enjoyed Devon vs Nate, but good God! He's practically driving Lily away from the company by not trusting her. Whether he was right or not. Self-fulfilling prophecy much? Totally Team Lily with her wanting to join Billy. And not even her fault.

Chelesa and everything connected to her again has become FF material again.

I didn't mind the scenes with Victoria and all her kids. It is understandable and continues to be that there would be some adjustment to Claire being around. Though it is jarring that it was Johnny at first who had issues, and now it's Katie.

Awwww Audra got what she wanted from the moment she walked into town. No complaints here. Hehe. And I thought the opening with her and Nate and the phone was a meet-cute moment. They were adorable all through the episode.

That said, it was an okay week. Nothing to really write home about. But at least there were moments.

Speaking of them...I was weirded out to see Summer make room for Sally to stay at the company now that Chelesa was back. And then it occurred to me....OHHH they are setting up for the reveal of Adam/Chelesa sleeping together already. Got it!

And speaking of set-up...I stay enjoying watching Victor weave his web and getting that scene with Adam as Adam figures it out. So his father's son. And the reason why he was hired at that company...because regardless of how he sees Jack as a father figure, Adam will STILL go after Jabot...unlike Nick and perhaps even Victoria. It just felt like Victor was playing chess and I did enjoy it.

Out of the gate, not feeling this week at all.

I was happy to see Sharon with a tale, but...Hunni, what is this? I don't mind the flashbacks and okay cgi, but it just does not have any rhyme or reason to it yet. Even with the constant throwaway lines about how 'my meds have been off' between Sharon and Nick.

OH, SHUT UP CHELESA. Adam can take the secret to his grave. Cuz he's smart like that. If anyone is coming across as guilty it's her. And she NEVER shuts up about it. And she needs to.

Who wrote the 7-15 episode because hearing 'Mary Mack dressed in black' took me out? It just seem weird to me because it has always seem like a black kids song so it was off? to see Harrison and Claire singing/playing it? And Summer's envy growing has been fun to watch only because it's AL playing her.

Meanwhile, Kyle continues to irk.

Victor is going to Victor so I cheered him yelling at the kids per usual.

I think the only thing that I've liked so far this week has been Nate & Audra.

'You may like to remind me that I'm not his biological mother, but I'm the one he calls Mommy.' THAT'S RIGHT, SUMMER!!! LET KYLE KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS!!! AL with the right emphasis and a head tilt won that Kyle vs Summer fight to me. But alas...here comes Giggly Heffa to make the drama worse.

Not that Kyle is making it easy. He came across as a total prick as he kept hanging over Summer's head that she was not Harrison's biological mother. Dude, STFU. And then to add salt in the wound, he is purposely taking Harrison and Claire on his business trip with him. Just a tool.

Outside of that, there were other good moments this episode. AKA Audra/Sally scenes. A curious Faith/Phyllis scene. Seeing Heather and a Paul mention.

Over Adam/Chelesa already.

    • Loved Valerie Mahaffey as crazy as a box of frogs Sandy Cooper on Wings. 2025 needs to chill out already. May Ms. Mahaffey rest in peace.
    • She was great on there. And Wings. And so many shows. I don't feel like we get those character actors as much now.
    • Cady did have a southern accent as Dixie in her first few years playing the character... but it started to minimize the longer she played the character (which tracks because my aunt had a heavy southern accent when married my uncle and years living in the north has softened it quite a bit). Her initial stint playing Rosanna was partly due to mirroring the previous actress and eventually developing her own take on the character. And the thing about her take as Kelly on Y & R was that she was too sedate when she first took over playing the role (she was supposed to play a woman that had recently lost her child.. and trying to keep things together) and then went OTT crazy and didn't play it well.    And I don't care to remember her attempt at playing Jennifer on Days. I think this Pamela character is the first time she's playing a character from the start and I think she's like a kid at a candy store.  She's having so much fun trying different things... and I hope eventually she decides to settle on a more consistent character for Pamela (perhaps her love of accents is a character trait based on something traumatic that happened to her in the past maybe).
    • That's sad. I remember her mostly from ER and the shortlived, yet very funny, sitcom The Powers That Be.
    • As always loved seeing Ric with Liz. I hope the show forever keeps them in each others orbit even if it’s just platonic. I’m sure she’s going to cut him out when she finds out he’s blackmailing Alexis though. So darn.
    • I have to be honest I’m really struggling with this show. I love everything with Eva/Leslie/Ted/Nicole/Kat and enjoy Dani and Bill’s shenanigans (I’m on the Hayley needs to be recast train now tho), Chelsea is second to Kat as my favorite Dupree grandkid and I loved her coming out to her mom. The show was on a truly great run with the big Leslie and Eva reveal at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party and the fall out has still been good even with the unnecessary Ted recast and them making Leslie kind of dumb by exposing herself too much unnecessarily. The real problem for me started when they rotated back to way too damn much screen time for Derek/Ashley/Andre (if anyone should have been up first for a recast it was these three IMO). They tried way too hard to drum up drama between Ashley and Derek and the actors were clearly fighting for their mediocre charisma less acting lives to make it work but none of it landed, just horrible. Naomi and Jacob and this weird homeless woman story are also BORING. I can see where its potentially going but IDGAF at all, my only hope for them is that they’re building a triangle with Naomi/Jacob/Kat because Jacob and Kat have stronger chemistry together than their current love interests (Eva is the only one who can make the awful Tomas work). Martin, his secret and still cringe worthy acting got kind of interesting with Bill dropping hints to Smitty but they completely lost me with that lil fakeout scene at the country club. The lame “teenagers” (air quotes because Samantha is no Bianca Lawson and never beating the black Andrea Zuckerman allegations) can get off my screen as well. Joey creeping on Vanessa is grossing me out at this point, I actually quite like Vanessa and Doug now but Joey falls totally flat as a villain and someone we’re supposed to buy Vanessa being enamored with. I’m glad they’ve finally set up something interesting for Vernon and Anita to do with this girl band reunion instead of Anita wringing her hands and telling us she feels darkness coming and Vernon giving a civil rights speech every episode but yeah… People who’ve posted with me for other shows know I’m not one for fast forwarding or hate watching either, if I find a majority of a show is not working I usually just quit but because of what this show represents for me as a Black male soap fan I really want to stick it out. Its just become a challenge lately. I saw Guza has left the building and I REALLY hope we hear about some more BTS changes. The additions of Tracy Thompson and Jamie Giddens don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence from me tho. Honestly praying hard for a new EP to replace JHC, a lot of the stuff that annoyed about her PC and AMC runs has started to match up here. I’m giving the show through the Summer to rectify some things but IDK how long I can hold on tbh. Its been a struggle to even finish some of these episodes lately.
    • I agree. I liked the episode but it felt jarring to suddenly return to a bunch of plots that had been put on pause since the Nurses' Ball started. Although I did like Laura popping in at the end to tell Alexis that millions of dollars have suddenly disappeared from Ace's trust fund. One set of scenes that made me feel optimistic for the next few months were between Sofia Mattsson and Rory Gibson. While Rory has been good as a darker, colder Michael this week, I was worried that he might not have much range. But he really warmed up with Mattsson, and I thought that (for the first time) Michael and Sasha had some genuine chemistry.
    • Next week is going to be such a sad time... I just feel it based on what was shown today. I'm wondering if the whole John being bandaged thing being a throwback to how he first arrived on the show was a Ron C idea since it just seems as though this would be something he would come up with.  If so, it's good that Cwikly/Ford are in charge with the implementing of the idea instead of him. Just a delayed thought from the Ciara scenes earlier in the week, or last week.. and how she had an odd way of dressing/acting.  I chuckle because little Ciara did say that she admired and wanted to be just like Kristen when she grew up.  So the fact that her outfit choices are so odd/off beat and her manner is a bit OTT just fits.. especially since Eileen's Kristen had an odd sense of fashion and that frantic OTT undertone to her delivery. With that said, a part of me wonders how Eileen's Kristen would have handled the scenes being done this week in regards to John's situation.
    • My god the smirking was back in full force today. He almost started smiling after Johnny mentioned he wouldn’t be there if EJ hadn’t raped Sami. I will say I did like seeing him with Dee as they’ve always had great chemistry.    They really are giving a lot of false hope with John getting better. I wish they hadn’t done that. Monday is going to be devastating. I really liked all the characters mixing and mingling today.  Nu-Rachel is still too sweet for me. Loved all the flashbacks. Everyone looked so young. Really enjoyed Brady’s scenes with John today.
