Eagle-eyed viewers have been discussing the potential exit of Daytime Emmy Award winner Mishel Morgan from “The Young and the Restless” for weeks, primarily due to her name not appearing in the contract cast list shown during the end credits segment at the end of select episodes — the last time Morgan was credited as a contract cast member was the August 4 episode while her character last appeared on-screen on the August 5 episode.

Earlier this month, Morgan seemingly put exit rumors to bed when she responded to multiple worried fans on Twitter, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll be back on screen very soon.” However, a recent post by co-star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) has rejuvenated conversations about Morgan possibly leaving the soap.

In an Instagram post shared yesterday, September 28, Stafford dedicated a heartfelt message to Morgan: “My super amazing EMMY winning friend! I have had so much fun with you the past 3 years. I love the friendship we created on screen. And the friendship we created off screen.

“SO many amazing things are happening for you and I am beyond excited! The future is yours! This is the beginning of so much greatness. I love the scenes we shot today. I love you girl. You are special. Never forget that. Go get um!”

Stafford closed her post with a “heart” emoji along with a photo of the two standing side by side during a break from a taping.

Morgan’s most recent post on her own Instagram page, published last week, was a short clip of herself moving to the song “Come Check This” by FETISH while in her dressing room at the Television City studio where “Y&R” is taped. She captioned the video with “Ready for my close up!” The clip was liked by nearly 3,000 accounts, including the “Y&R” handle and some of her co-stars.

Per its policy, “The Young and the Restless” does not comment on the status of actor contracts.

Mishael Morgan is the first African American actress to win a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Drama Series: Actress.

During an appearance on “The Talk” shortly after winning the award, the actress spoke of the meaning of the historic achievement. “It means that my hard work has paid off,” she added, noting, “And I feel like, when I was a kid, my dad always told me, you need to be ten times better because you’re black, just to be seen as equal. And I hope this step forward shows that we can be equal. We’re getting to a place where more of us can just be our best, and that’s enough.”

Stafford’s post currently stands at just over 3,000 likes, including from fellow cast mates and the show’s casting associate. Check it out the post below.

    • I think Dani cares about her sister, but I agree with you. She's using this whole mess to be heard and make herself feel better. I wish Ted and Eva told her to fck off. I had to laugh when Dani commented on her and Anita confronting Ted. She acted as if they destroyed him. That's not what I saw. Dani has been dialed back from those first weeks, but I can't say she's likable. As long as she's throwing shade at Eva for her work as a hairstylist -- while ignoring that she did nothing except eat celery sticks and walk the runway -- she can kiss off. Barely tolerable, and Lindstrom is terrible in the role. I don't find him scary at all, and his money laundering plan is stupid as hell. I gagged when he texted Vanessa to ask if she was thinking about him. That's throw up time.
    • Same. But given how the writers like to have her have good moments and bad moments...and Dani has been background as of late...it's about time she had some bad moments.
    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
