You're confusing Heinle with Tognoni on this one, I think. GTs Phyllis is the reigning rom com queen.

Story rhythm is a huge issue especially when it includes beats played from whose POV. Mal picked up Chuck Pratt's offbeat style. I never noticed storytelling being so off until 2015.
