Was MAB or JFP more destructive to YR.

Neither. The most destructive was that hack bitch from the depths of hell LML. She is the one who set the tone for every subsequent regime.

Hell, in her first few months MAB did a lot to repair the show, only to devolve into her own signature mess. I actually look at JFP's reign as the blandest in Y&R's history. Certainly, she damaged it, but not irrevocably so.

Agreed. There was just a certain Y&Rness to Y&R before LML. The music, the pacing, the look. It was just head and shoulders above the other soaps, and the prevailing opinion at the time was that Y&R was number 1 in the ratings for a reason.

LML made a point of killing the Y&Rness of Y&R and telling the press she was doing so, and once it was gone, it could never be brought back. And since then has often been among the worse soaps.
