B&B: Meet the new Ridge....

I'm still slightly optimistic and curious.

Yet; I remembered how much I HATED Lane Davies as TempRidge. I was very young back then and this was one my first recast moments, so this maybe throw me off from the get-go, but I think he was all wrong for the role and in his demeanour didn't fit. As someone else mentioned, Ridge isn't exactly a deep character. He's mostly self-indulgent and only got some sympathy from Ronn Moss' chuckling charme and acting ditz. So this will be indeed pretty hard to make the character work but best of luck to Thorsten Kaye.

I *LOVED* Lane Davies as Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara. That was his defining role and it fit him like a glove, but it was a very particular character, and Ridge Forrester is not vulnerable, sarcastic, self-aware, romantic, self-destructive Mason Capwell. LD came across as very low-key and a little shell-shocked as Ridge, but I think part of that was to do with the fact that he knew he was a temporary fill-in for only a couple of episodes. He was there to move story along until Moss returned.
