Annoying old Man on phone: your name is what?

Me: Addie (for the third time)

Man: Abby?

Me: ADDIE

man: what?

Me: *sigh* ADELAIDE

man: like the city?

M:.........yes.

Man: did you know there's a character in Guys and Dolls named that?

Me:............................yes.

*blah blah blah we talk some more*

Man: okay, thank you Maddie *hangs up*

Damn. That does sound annoying. When I worked tech for the phone company. People would give me [!@#$%^&*] about my name all the time. "Oh, like Celine Dion" "Oh, like the singer than J.LO played." "Oh like that girl on the Disney Channel"

I was like......SHUT THE !@#$%^&*] UPPPPPP!!! LMAO.

Yep! I get asked about the city and the Guys and Dolls character frequently (usually by old people). I can always tell to. It'll be like "oh Adelaide like the..." And I'm like "yes like the city." Lol.

I think my high school drama class did Guys and Dolls. But, I didn't audition. Stage fright!

I was always in the theater productions and in like community theater stuff. I was hyper and liked a lot of attention, plus my stepmother liked anywhere she could just leave us and anywhere that would take us off her hands for long periods of time LOL.

I'm still hyper myself. But, I just couldn't do the acting stuff. I remember my third grade play. (Viva La 1996!!!) My parents had it on tape and I watched it like 10 years later and was like....[!@#$%^&*]. I was frozen there with this blank look on my face half the time.

Really wish I could act. It sounds like you've had so much fun. But, nevertheless. I'm chicken.

Well, I was certainly no master thespian, but it was fun. We always did stuff like that. My parents were all about us getting "involved" with stuff.
