Yea I'm glad they're bringing the character back too and glad YaYa won't come back either, LOL. I didn't realize Cassandra was adopted by Angie, I thought she was her biological daughter. I hope Frankie and Natalia will be back but I have a feeling this news probably means they won't be. Natalia especially, Shannon Kane was basically out the door in the last year or so anyway. It would be nice to have Brot on canvas too.

I've been trying to convert old VHS tapes into dvds and I found an episode of The City with little Kayla, the girl Angie and Jacob wanted to adopt before she was taken away and they found Cassandra. She would also be a good addition to the show.

I could see Jenny Slate playing now grown Kayla:

I just sit back and smile at the lack of Susan Lucci news. That woman's got the whole world in her hands. Just the mere whisper of Erica's name in this reboot will keep fans hanging on. This thing can definitely fly sans Erica. As long as she's name checked, fans will hang on and hang in.

Bren Coombs facebook - never heard of her before but is part of Soap Opera Socialite and was responsible for fan events, ‘Celebrate Pine Valley’ and ‘Celebrate Llanview,’ which celebrated the finales of All My Children and One Life To Life.

And I think the other Hubbards may be off somewhere, and their story will revolve around Cassandra, and possibly Maya and Lucy.

I think they should try to get one of the old JRs to be JR. Specifically Jesse McCartney or Jonathan Bennett. That would be kind of cool. McCartney would also have a bit of star appeal/buzz. There's nothing wrong with de-SORASing him a bit in my opinion. It could take him in a new directon away from the world-weary, cynical, hypocritical Jacob Young-era interpretation. At the same time, having it be a previous JR would bring familiarity and experience too. The show is probably going to center somewhat on JR, and I don't want some random who doesn't get the character or AMC, and who is still learning how to act, in that role.

I wonder if JR and Cassandra are the only roles AMC is recasting. I would say the less recasts, the better, but I can't imagine the show without a Chandler presence so perhaps Natalie Hall or Daniel Cosgrove are working on their deals now. As for the higher profile characters of Bianca, Kendall, Greenlee, Ryan...I mean, recasting those characters at this point is essentially not worth it but it makes me wonder if they're working out deals with the respective actors because those are big holes to fill.

Which I'm sure it won't be, meaning they will likely get Cam and Alicia back? My gut says they probably will. I enjoyed Greenlee but I'm curious, who would they focus on instead? The cast so far is solid but it's not enough and I also don't feel like it's enough of the "face" people from the last few years of the show. Not that that's a bad thing at all but I'm curious where the new focus will be if they're gone. Do you have any inklings, Errol?

Plus, what are Zach and Opal gonna do without Kendall, Erica, Ryan, Greenlee? Makes no sense.

The character I want back the most is Petey and in the form of the former actor. I already forgot his name. Daniel Kennedy maybe? God, he was tragically wasted.

I see both Cameron and Alicia returning as part of AMC's "recurring" cast. Rebecca? For some reason I feel like she was more a pet of Frons (let's not remind ourselves of the REAL Greenlee promo tour), so I just don't see her on except for a VERY limited capacity. I think for her it depends on Walt and Susan, if anything.

Now I'm going to say this though...if Susan Lucci does sign on (whichever capacity), my gut tells me we won't hear the news until the day before or day of filming for bigger press impact.
