Here's another great clip... this is the official promo video for "Drift Away". As we all know, MTV didn't invent the promo video in the 80's, it just started to air them all the time 24/7. Starting around 1970 (and sometimes earlier) the lion's share of big hit record had a promo video shot to go with them, to be sent to foreign countries for broadcast on their respective music shows.

R.I.P.

"The 'In' Crowd" peaked at #13, and "Drift Away" went to #5.

"Drift Away" was associated with one of the stupidest soap scenes I have ever seen: in "Dawson's Creek," Mitch Leery (Dawson's father) was driving late at night and singing along with the song on the radio. He was eating an ice cream cone while doing so, but the ice cream fell off the cone. Mitch chose to keep on driving while he tried to look for the ice cream on the floor of his SUV. Yet, since he took his eyes off the road, he was unable to see a speeding car coming towards him (until it was too late) and was killed.

Alphanguy, I'm actually going to post clip this in a new thread. You have given me a great idea to start a thread about dumbest chioces by soap characters.
