He never respected her and just weeks prior to this contrivance, was complaining about Lily going into business with Carly. To me, this is an 'on paper' idea that is laughable (and was not ever meant to last beyond the 2 months that it did)......plus, the non-existant fallout. How on earth does Jack barely get mad at Holden?!?!? Martha Byrne left, they recast the role immediately and they NEEDED to have Noelle Beck succeed. How do we make the audience feel sympathy for the unsympathetic Lily pining for her dead first boyfriend who didn't love her? Have her husband sleep with her 'best' friend. And the summer of Colden was thrust upon us. Plus, kinda nice for Beck that she got to work with West who ALWAYS lifts those around her. lol...not that I've given it any thought or anything! Oh, yes, the evil "my wife wants to seduce me wearing lingerie" plot. *eyeroll* TIIC should have simply bitten the bullet and ENDED Holden and Lily the minute Byrne left the building. (They should have ended them at least five years before or simply killed Lily instead of Rose, but I digress...) I disagree about one thing---Holden never had a problem nailing someone he didn't respect. LittleHolden made a lot of decisions like that. I never bought Carly would be attracted to the most boring man in Oakdale other than Tom. You know who owns this category...The Austrailian who shall not be named. I never bought the Tom/Emily one night stand. Yes, Emily was attractive (when she wasn't speaking) but Tom had, from what I remember, never cheated (maybe he cheated on Maggie? I don't know, I haven't seen any of that time), and had always avoided adultery while married to Margo. A few months of pressures with Eddie Man and he has sex with Emily? That story did horrible damage to everyone involved. I didn't like it (between Em and Tom, who could...) but I ignored the lack of chemistry simply because it played so well upon Oakdale history.
