Is this show as depressing as it seems to be? I've always wanted to watch but I keep hearing how sad/'horrid' it is and I don't know if I want to get into that. lol

The only episode that you must watch is 'Sylvia' which is the best episode the show ever put out. Sylvia was a former actress who'd been on AMC and The Doctors, had moved back to North Carolina, was a very successful interior decorator and was also an alcoholic. Sylvia was like a character out of a Tennessee Williams play. Bill Bell and Agnes Nixon couldn't have written her better. It is the most riveting hour of television you'll see all year. Guaranteed.

Sylvia was like a character out of a Tennessee Williams play. Bill Bell and Agnes Nixon couldn't have written her better.

This is so spot on. Sylvia could easily stand next to Amanda Wingfield or Blanche DuBois and shine just as much. I wish we had soap characters like this one still.
