If you watch long enough this will not be the last time OLTL is a bit too fascinated with hand and mouth action under a table.

@mar4331 is probably right...but...if you last that long I'd be fascinated with your take on the very strange Labines era of spring 1997-early 1998.

I feel very lucky that I haven't gone through all these years yet. Especially the rest of the Malone period. But I know that eventually... I'll run out of good episodes to watch. It always happens. Maybe then I'll just continue... for the hell of it... until I can't take it anymore. I don't know exactly how much OLTL was destroyed over time... but I can guess there were some really bad times from what I've heard. So yes, if I reach that point, I'll share my thoughts and I still hope to find things to like and love. The roses in the midst of the weeds. Who knows, maybe I'll think it's better than Malone.

I would agree it was better than what we got after. It was a fascinating, very awkward hybrid. I was probably harsher to it at the time than I would have been if I had known what was to come, but some aspects, like the way Blair was treated (don't want to give too much away), I will never support. I do appreciate their attempts at social awareness and reviving the moribund black cast.

What do you think their original plan/ending to the Georgie storyline was? I have a feeling it wasn't going to end in murder, and they especially wouldnt have made the killer who JFP did

The storyline would have made more sense if she was in love with Nora, not Bo. But I guess 1998 was too soon for that kind of story lol.

1993? Oh my god... Now I'm even mooore excited that I'm going into it. I love hearing different fan opinions and takes on favorite periods and years. I always remind myself of what people told me while I'm watching even if I end up with entirely different impressions sometimes.

Btw, I remember you said you liked Bo... and these past two episodes I just watched, while he locked himself with Sarah's body... What a performance! I had tears in my eyes. I didn't know the actor was THIS good. I'm beyond impressed and have to gather my thoughts for the long review.

@Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).

Yeeeeees. It was a nice touch to have here there with Bo. It would have been stupid if they ignored the history. A part of me wishes they would re-ignite the obsession, even though I know it won't happen. (giving Morty a public handjob is a sign she has other priorities now) Still... it was so fun seeing Alex fake her own stalker, talk on a voice distortion device and send herself death threats. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. That's why I recommended April to the person wanting to start somewhere in 1991... because the build up to Loon Lake is very entertaining. Tonja was so in her element.

P.S. I have this lovely promo that I don't know if it's uploaded or not, but it was in one of my folders of 1991.

Blair's first episode is October 10th, 1991... that's where I started off with only going back to see Alex's storyline from spring-summer 1991. Excited for you! Have fun!

    • Yes, it was. Dinah had started to soften after Henry's heart attack in March. After Paige Turco took over the role, the attitude is turned way, way down. The thing about Vanessa was, she could be very territorial. If Dinah had gone to Lillian (who had befriended Dinah before she knew Vanessa was her mother), that would've stung a bit, but Van probably would've understood. But Dinah getting advice from Ross' new girlfriend would not have sat well with her, the same way Van later bristles anytime Nadine tries to stake some kind of role in Bill's life. @DeeVee  I know it's been brought up before, but I hadn't really connected Long breaking up Ross/Van to the fact that she'd neither created that backstory or been responsible for giving them a love child.  I wonder what she would've done had she been there when Jordan left, and had to break Billy/Van up.
    • Yes it was The Young and the Restless.
    • I would love for Rick and Amber to come back and Amber to be involved with Deke somehow

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
