Just happened to see this. She played Pauline on Secret Storm for nearly 20 years. She was 97...god love her! There's a small blurb about her being on SS all the way down the article. I've heard of her, but only through her SS association. Had no idea she was so involved in the NYC theater scene, both on stage and behind the scenes. RIP.

Thanks for posting this. I was with AMS in thinking she had already passed. Good to know she was successful outside of daytime.

Wow. What a long life she led. She was one of the classic soap meddlers and villains, yet never entirely unsympathetic.

I have an article on her I will post when I can find it.

Here is a 1955 episode.

Here's a TV Guide article on the "Daytime Delilahs of 1964" that accompanies the welovesoaps.com obit of Ms. Stoddard. The text of the article can be enlarged. It includes Ms. Stoddard, Lee Lawson, Ludi Claire, and Audra Lindley. I can't wrap my mind around "Mrs. Roper" looking so chic and stylish LOL.

It's so weird seeing Bea Reardon like that.

Thanks for posting this. I'd seen that photo of Audra Lindley more than once but never the article it was attached to.

From what I've heard, Audra's Liz Matthews was pretty fierce and intimidating, totally driving story. I love the marvelous Irene Dailey, but from what I gather and from the snippets I've seen of her on some old youtube episodes, the character was pretty much diffused during the 70s, reduced to being a meddlesome busybody.

I've heard that too - I think someone said the defusion started with Nancy Wickwire, but I can't remember.

I love the style of the color 60s photos. They are just gorgeous and unique, perhaps because at that time color was still something of a luxury.

It's not as good as what you shared through WLS but when I find the Halia article I will post it.
