WGA Writing Award, prior year, one of the submitted episodes was Bill Hayes as Doug, in Marlena's office, being evaluated for dementia when the Devil reveals itself to be in Doug but to want to move from Doug to Doc. Here's what I wrote about it on July 12, 2022, which showed up in my FB Memories for today:

I learned something about one of the DOOL Writing Reels from an interview Michael Fairman did with Ron about Beyond Salem. One of the writers on that winning team was Betsy Snyder, RIP. After hearing about her & this I went & wrote up her whole career & posted it so you should be able to find it & read it if you're interested. She was one fantastic lady, clearly, and a fine fine writer. Worked on tons of shows over the years. Was 60, died last Nov. 2021, of cancer. She did the breakdown writing for one whole episode that was submitted by DOOL for Writing. She wrote the outline of the episode. It was when the Devil 2.0 was just getting started. (I hated that story but a good script is a good script.) Doug was in Marlena's office being evaluated in case he was getting Alzheimer's because of strange things he'd been saying & doing. In reality the devil was in Doug & wanted to use Doug as a vehicle to JUMP over into Marlena. The show was amazing. Bill Hayes at his advanced age was wonderful! The devil tricked Marlena into taking him into her by playing on how much she cared about this dear friend & patient. So, I have spent all this time fretting that DOOL won Writing Awards, the only awards for soap writing that there are, and now I can replay that show in my head & know that in fact it was excellence in writing.

Mike Farrell pops up at around 10 minutes, 23 minutes and 32 minutes in this - no dialogue. He has a bit of dialogue around 26 minutes.

When I was sending some Tina Andrews-related paperwork to CNN today, I remembered that I had seen Ketty Lester (who played Valerie's mother Helen) last year in an episode of "The Wonder Years." So, I mentioned to them that perhaps they could get in contact with Ketty and either just interview her about her memories of Tina/Days, or perhaps even get an on-air reunion of the two!  Doubt that will happen, but doesn't hurt to ask!!

None of those years. Nathan Curtis (Phyllis and Neil's baby) was born 12/1/76. So it's 1976.

Jerry only did 4 episodes during the Phyllis pregnancy. From your description, looks to be # 2708 to me!

@JAS0N47 I've got another one wondering when it was. The original person thought it was some time in 1981. Marlena, radio call-in show. Someone calls in & wants to be stopped before he does it again. Don Craig, trying to get a trace. Joshua Fallon checks on Doc in her apartment. Julie, a different Hope & Doug. Dr. Stuart Whyland goes over Doc's resume with her.

(I have at least two more of these.)

Definitely in 1981 Joshua Fallon 1980-1981 and Stuart Whyland 1981-1982. 1981 is the common year.

@JAS0N47  This is John and Romulus where Diana is trying to convince John he's been her partner as an international jewel thief. Of course it is all a lie.

I have Bo & Roman on the pier & they flashback to Roman dying on the beach. It is sometime in 1991 and the flashback is 1984. (Cliff 11-24-84; Beach 11-26-84)

That's not enough to go on, at least to do it quickly, and I don't have time to go through episode-by-episode cast lists, sorry. You mentioned Jerry last time, which made it quite easy to find in a moment.

The 1980-1989 daily episode guide is posted here, so you can check it out and maybe find it:

    • I am interested to see how they handle Leslie/Dana down the road. If she continues in this path, it would be unrealistic to have her around. Like other shows have done this with a 'villian' character and ended up with people looking stupid putting up with someone they detest. Another thought-could they be building up to a murder story? Maybe Les/Dan will be left in a coma and we will have a whodunit with several characters as suspect. It would also be a chance to redeem her I wonder how long the show will go w/o resorting to soap cliche stories-twins,switched at birth, murder mystery, long lost child etc
    • Yeah, Martin really did make me laugh when him and Smitty jumped up to drag Leslie out. I am interested in seeing how this fallout will impact his storyline as well. Especially since he is so protective regarding his family/family's image. I am interested in seeing how he will interact with Eva for the time being, they did have a warmer interaction earlier on once they met. But he seems to have doubts about her possibly being Ted's right now. I wonder how long it might take for him to come around with her. I could see the younger generation warming up to her quicker than the older ones. Though of course I think there will be anger/tension for a while regarding the reveal and her role in it. Perhaps Naomi/Chelsea will ease up on Eva first then eventually Martin/Kat might down the line. I really do love Nicole. I'm glad that DD is playing her. She really is the heart of the family and also agree the show. She is so easy to root for and I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out for her. I am enjoying the development of most of the characters on this show. I enjoy most of them including Bill with his trifling self lol. I do feel that Bill's love for his daughters is genuine and that gives him some depth. A few of the characters I don't care for that much (like Bill, Ashley, Vanessa). I wasn't too big on Andre at first, but I am warming up more to him as the actor is settling into the role. I like most of the characters on this show. Also, I am interested in seeing what happens if Eva indeed goes and lives with the new doctor that was introduced. I could see this adding another layer to her story, maybe she will become more vixen-ish, on what type of relationship they end up having. And/or maybe she will end up becoming more hardened as she deals with being an outcast, especially if she falls out with Leslie as well. I think that AM will do a good job of showcasing the different layers of this character as she deals with the fallout of the affair/paternity reveal.

Got another sad news from the Bahamian community (not a celebrity)  https://www.instagram.com/p/DJMSrYCgyes/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Former Bahamian Senate President J Henry Bostwick, Husband of former 1st Bahamian Female Cabinet Minister Dame Janet Bostwick is dead yesterday on his 86th birthday.    Thanks and for those who've aren't familiar with the talk shows in The Bahamas on this thread here, his talk show named The Freedom March with Dr Rodney Moncur that airs on ILTV and The Beat 103.5 FM Nassau every weekday afternoons. IIRC, he suffered a illness before he died.  Here's the link for his final taping of the show before his death: https://ewnews.com/this-is-powerful-rodney-moncurs-final-sign-off/

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
