Members JAS0N47 Posted June 25, 2010 Members Share Posted June 25, 2010 Robert Brubaker and Sid Conrad, two actors from the early years of "Days of Our Lives", recently passed away. Brubaker, who played John Martin, the father-in-law of Susan Hunter (Denise Alexander) from 1966 to 1971, passed away on April 15, 2010 in Lake Elsinore, California. He was 93. Conrad, who played various roles on "Days" in the 1960s and 1970s, including a prison cellmate of Bill Horton and Doug Williams in 1970 and the reverend who married Mickey Horton and Maggie Simmons in 1974, died on April 16, 2010 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was 86. George Robert Brubaker was born on October 9, 1916 in Robinson, Illinois. While attending Northwestern University, he began his acting career with several plays in 1934. Brubaker served as a pilot in the Air Force during both World War II and the Korean War. Brubaker appeared in two separate recurring roles on "Gunsmoke", first as Jim, the stagecoach driver, and later as Floyd, the bartender. He went on to appear in countless shows such as "I Love Lucy", "The Twilight Zone", "The Andy Griffith Show", "Bonanza", "Perry Mason", "Dragnet", "Barnaby Jones" and "Kojak." Brubaker retired from acting in 1979 and later trained salespeople at Forest Lawn cemetery. Sid Levington Conrad was born on August 10, 1923 in Otsego, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After graduating from UCLA, he appeared regularly on television in commercials as well many series such as "The Young and the Restless", "Moonlighting", "Chicago Hope", "JAG", "The West Wing," and "ER." He performed in the one-man shows "Will Rogers USA" and "Spencer Tracy" and also appeared on regional stages including in California, New York, Alaska and Florida.
