Why do you think AMC's timeslot is the "best"? I've always thought GH was considered to have the "best" timeslot for the ABC soaps.

I consider the AMC timeslot best for a few reasons: Less talk shows to compete against considering that the higher-rated programs run later; it is lunch time, most people don't get a break later in the afternoon; lastly, Y&R proves that a soap can pull in high numbers at 1pm EST. GH, at 3pm with no other soap to fight, still has trouble pulling in over a 2.0 but I don't think this is the shows fault and, if I were ABC, there would be a shuffle. I think GH could really cut into Y&R demos.

Y&R ratings are high because it's on at 12:30 not 1:00 so it looks like GH has a better time slot then AMC does. GH is number of the ABC soaps right now too. AMC should be high if there is less talk shows and there prolly is.
