December 30, 200916 yr Member We had a great time. Hope all of you did as well. We went to our small cabin, still fairly new, at my mom's property about two hours away in ski country, which is becoming somewhat of a family compound. The weather was colder but drier, and we had lots of firewood - AND EVEN MORE EGGNOG. It was good to see family, and even better to see them leave our own little place and go stay in the big house. The others went off on alpine ski days, which I miss, so I tried some cross-country skiing on the frozen lake with my sister and her new boyfriend - he's from Costa Rica and doesn't know from snow. That extra firewood was greatly appreciated by him and he learned how to make a good Canadian winter fire. Me, my handsome husband, and my brother and his wife, went into the woods on my brother's latest toys, his snowmobiles, and came back with two small spruce trees for Christmas eve. Yeah. We're just your typical Jewish Canadian family.
