I always prefered Josh as the bad boy cad. This was before Reva reduced him and Robert Newman to her Plus 1 until the last episode. I loved Josh and Morgan as a couple-no matter how breif it was.

Oh nice! Are you able to share here? :)

It's seriously not even worth it.  A tiny picture with Hart/Dinah and Roger/Amanda and you can tell it's not a pic with all of them really together and it says Who Will Wed. It doesn't even have anything else to read. I found it on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrFox9NhsL2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=d2pxMGE4dzU1czV2

@Lujack4Ever Was that Morgan on the beach with Josh?  So, they did end up together for a bit?

Another example of how a basically boring character only became interesting once they decided to write her out. Morgan decided to dump Kelly's controlling ass for Josh. Kelly and her mother Jennifer had a meltdown over it. (Jennifer even went to Kelly and Morgan's marriage counselor and tried to get her to talk Morgan into staying with Kelly).

Morgan finally acquired a backbone, pretty much told them to pound sand, and refused to leave Josh. But then Josh wasn't that interested in a committed relationship, so they broke up. Morgan left soon after.

I am SO confused.  I read online that Blake become an ordained minister and briefly worked for Eve Guthrie?  Is that true?  Why did Blake become a minister?

Thanks!  That's a fun picture. I wish I could go back and see any front-page pictures of the GL storylines that got published during my watch party :) I wonder if Brent/Marian/Lucy/A-M, Annie/Reva/Josh (assume so), Blake/Ross/Rick/Abby, Vanessa/Matt, etc...

Not many made the cover of Soap Opera Digest.  As for Brent/Marian, I don't think that storyline got articles written over it nor the cover.

I know there is a Lucy/Alan Michael cover on Soap Opera Digest of their wedding.

As for Reva, she had a ton of articles, covers, etc. on her.

BTW, can anyone tell me why Roger wanted to not release the story on Brent Lawrence?  This is according to summaries and it never made sense to me.

IIRC, Blake became a minister (via online course) in some short of hair-brained scheme to trick Ross into marrying her again.

That surprises me that Brent/Marian wasn't featured or written about anywhere, as that ate up most of 1995 and was actually good/thrilling (for some). Maybe they were scared bc it was a little taboo for the decade?

Hmm - can you send the summary or more context on what Roger did? I just watched 1995 several months ago so I can check my notes or scour my brain if I think about it a bit :). My initial memory is that Roger was only involved in that storyline when he framed Marcus for stealing money at the Twin Towers, and then when Marian killed Cutter, Marcus became the suspect. I can't remember Roger being involved in the Marian storyline beyond that off the top of my head.

Thanks!  I guess this is one reason why I really wasn't into Soaps. Especially, CBS ones. I really just skimmed the soap magazines in the 1990s and stopped.

@alwaysAMC I am not sure myself. I know they had him frame Marcus stealing money. My poor Michael Zaslow...I just don't get what Roger's motives were. I guess a way to get him in the main storyline. I recall he ended up showing Marcus didn't do it just to make sure she didn't find out about him stealing the money.

It's interesting how I think my nighttime viewing may have affected even how I viewed daytime shows. I was a TGIF ABC gal.

@alwaysAMC  I go here to find magazine covers.  It even tells you what section of the magazine they are in (so you know if you want to buy it or not).

Back Issues Of Soap Opera Magazines | Soap Opera World

GL at that time really wasn't getting much on covers.

BTW, I noticed that Michael Zaslow and Wendy Moniz gave out the Daytime Emmy award for best leading actress in 1996.  Michael looked so healthy.  Too bad they didn't get to give the award for Jerry's win.

Yeah, ultimately McTavish made it a bigger umbrella story, which I actually liked, but I think part of his motivation was Dinah, IIRC. He didn't like her friendship with him and he was new in town and disrupting things for him. Remember she also brought Reva and her Goshen story into the Brent/Marian storyline for a bit too - they all seem to come together at some point.

It's hard to decide if I should watch old 1980s ones as most don't have all the episodes and so many people that I have never heard of like Morgan.

GL doesn't have YouTube vids just focused on one story arch like the 1980s General Hospital mystery story arch have and I pretty much knew characters up to early 2000s.

It's kind of wild that you haven't. She's Amanda's half-sister. She has a history with Josh and a little bit of a history with Phillip. She should have at least been mentioned when Amanda returned in the 90s.

DeeVee has the low down on Joah and Morgan nicely. I would love to see their scenes in their entirety again. I was so rooting for Josh because I couldn't stand Kelly.

So many missed opportunities on this show.  Sometimes it seems like just when I get into a show, I jinx it.  Shipping Lex and Lana on Smallville (being a Lex fan on that show in general), Brenda on 90210, Prue and Andy on Charmed, Caleb and Miranda on Ravenswood...all go kaput.

Just discovering Guiding Light and then finding out what happens to my favorite chatacter/actor.

@Lujack4Ever  What a great picture!  It's fasinating how even in the the early 90s, GL didn't really do great outdoor location scenes like the 80s. I would have shown Roger in a real overseas location.

And the cruel irony is at the very end GL was 90% locations shoots in drab  Peapack that was supposed to be a major Metroplitan city...no one can forget the sad episode where Spaulding Enterprises held a meeting in a field. So yeah we can cherish those great location shoots from 40 years ago.
