May 18, 200916 yr Author Member I've yet to see Phyllis's point of view in this whole thing. Her world doesn't appear to exist outside of Nick, which is sad. At least Sharon interacts and has story with others on this show, not so much with Phyllis.

Nick brought back the old Phyllis, the one before 2000.

May 18, 200916 yr Member At leas the pre-2000 Phyllis was entertaining to watch in a psychotic way. Maybe the psychotic way will be re-introduced later? I wouldn't like it; we have Mary Jane for that now, and she does it so good.

May 18, 200916 yr Member See, times like this show what a limited writer Maria is. She doesn't have the creative spirit of a Curlee for example. Nobody has Curlee's creative spirit, Alvin. I want MAB replaced as badly as you do, but I think you're setting your expectations too high.
May 18, 200916 yr Member If the only writers available out there are as similar as Pratt/Guza/Passanante/Higley then Maria should stay.

Oh, I realize my expectations will never be met. But again, MAB doesn't even try to be creative or unique. It's all run of the mill storytelling with her. But I guess she should stick to what she knows before we get another chipmunk fiasco again.
May 18, 200916 yr Member It's just hard for writers to write for a black characters. No, it's hard for writers to write for boring characters. It's a bit harder where the Winterses are concerned, though, because the network is probably too afraid of making them "too black".

Whenever I think of their storyline I feel like falling in a coma. So no wonder why an entire episode based around them is dull.
May 18, 200916 yr Author Member Sometimes when HWs try to be unique it all turns into crap. Well, what's her excuse for making the simplest of soap storylines crappy?
May 18, 200916 yr Member Well, what's her excuse for making the simplest of soap storylines crappy? Which would those be? They aren't that crappy. She shouldn't pay so much attention to Sheffer and Hamner. She doesn't know better, obviously.

Yes... you know, I would LOVE it if they would have had the guts to wrtie a scene for Della Reese where Virgina takes Devon aside and whispers... "Why is your stepsister marrying a WHITE MAN?"
