Members SteveFrame
I agree with Kahn - a paycheck is a paycheck. Folks you have got to look at the fact that Martha is in her 40's now and daytime is not creating new characters and hiring an abundance of actresses in that age these days. So she didn't have much choice. And I am sure she wants to work. As I said in another thread look at the very little talent performers who have been hired after losing their jobs because they are young and look good without their shirts on. Byrne just doesn't have a ton of options. Plus money is getting scarce in daytime. Look at even AMC now who is following in the steps of ATWT and almost every old role that is coming back has a new player in it rather than the former performer. For the most part they are newbies who are so much cheaper. As to the thing of her being used so much more effectively or in a more useful role, Byrne is just following in the steps of so many other soap opera veterans like Ann Flood, Maeve McGuire, Louise Sorel, and so many others who when they reached that age started showing up as judges and small roles that were never for the most part contract roles. Members S&BFanForLife
I'm not familiar with her work but I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully, they'll keep her out of Sonny's orbit.
Members dragonflies
Oh definitely, but they won't utilize her like they should.
Members SalemPlace
I wish they'd worry enough to get rid of Guza and Frons. But that would be too practical. Just when I was about to tune out of GH. Now I will have to tune back in to see Martha. I've missed her.
Members Cheyenne
Good for Martha! I'll be tuning in on May 14th then. Oh and her next B&B episode is on May 5th.
Members CSF
It would be nice to see Martha in another role. Even though Beck grew on me as Lilly, I still liked Martha the best in that role.
