I always assumed she came back to GH in 2006 and again now because it would be fun to hang out with old friends, and gives her an excuse to visit. Sort of a working vacation. If it is open ended now, I guess she just misses acting and doesn't have a British project lined up at the moment (as she has had from time to time). The actual content of the show might not even be a factor for her as long as she doesn't have to do anything career damaging or scandalous.
