What show has the highest percent of rich characters now?

For the sake of this thread lets just say that "rich" means upper class. On All My Children the only people who would not fall into that catagorey are Aidan, Taylor, Brot, and maybe Krystal when she is not married to someone. And on Y&R I can not think of one middle class person.

The "non-rich" or middle class people on "OLTL" are the Vegas, Talia, John, Marcie and Michael, Layla, Nigel, Roxy, Rex, Gigi, Shane, Stacy, Shaun, Charlie, Jared, Wes, Brody, and John. I think that's everyone.

Of course the rich are Todd, Blair, Dorian, David, Moe and Noelle (thanks to Dorian), the Cramers, and the Buchanan clan.

B&B definitely has the highest percentage. There is only ever 1 non rich person.

Y&R has Murphy, Katherine for the forseeable future, Clint and Roger in the poor category. Daniel, Amber, Kevin and Jana in the middle class category. The rest are rolling in cash.

Im not sure if Ryan is rich or not he seems to not need to work for some reason. Also Im not sure about Tad and Jake but with their father being the chief of staff at a hospital for like 30 years im sure the Martins have some money at least.

Now hang on a second...

John now owns and operates Rodi's.

Michael is a doctor.

Nigel probably has more disposable income than MOST working characters on the show, I'm sure the Buchanans haven't been cheap with him.

Roxy owns and operates the Hair Haven AND The Angel Square Hotel, so I'm sure she's got more money than she NEEDS.

Rex runs a P.I. business and Ultraviolet seems to be turning a profit again.

Jared is back to being an executive at B.E., isn't he? So he probably makes a 5 or 6 figure salary now.

So I wouldn't exactly put them in middle class. Owning and running businesses where the ENTIRE TOWN goes for drinks, foods, and fights certainly must make them good disposable income.

Not long ago (before Valentini), I think the list of the rich would have read:

the Lords (Viki, Jessica, Natalie, Todd, Starr who owned La Buffet and rented it for $1/yr. until Malone or Tomlin suddenly gave it to Dorian)

the Buchanans (Asa, Renee, Clint, Bo)

the Cramers (Blair, Dorian, Adriana, Langston)

and any super villains who come to town or returned from the dead.

It seems strange not to see the foundational super-rich Lord family led by its matriarch in a list of the rich in Llanview.

    • Ahh...so in that case it's more of a gray area. But I still think Lulu  has ground to tell Dante as she co-parents with him.
    • Well Disney owns the archive of all ABC soaps plus Santa Barbara. There are no known plans for Disney to do anything at all with the archive. Some of us are very excited because GH has done modern digitizing of original scenes of young Lucky & young Liz to use as flashbacks now & the past few months. Jerome Dobson last year teased that Santa Barbara might be streamed sometime. It had been tied up in some litigation & that is over now. The reason Disney owns it: it was owned by New World. FOX bought them. Disney bought all of FOX.
    • I casually watched it as a kid, but I finally started X-Men: The Animated Series season 1. It's going to be fun watching it from beginning to end.
    • Thank you very much for the information!!! All the episodes that person sells are the ones which appear or have appeared in youtube, and some have wrong dates.  Due to that, I guess some people, who have rare and inedite episodes, refuse to upload them in internet, because then, others make money. I hope ABC create a place in the net where we can see all the available episodes they must have, as Retro tv did with the Doctors!!!! Retro tv did an awesome job!!!! Have a look :

    • Dina was Jack, Ashley and Tracy's mom on Y&R.  Joanna was Lauren Fenmore's mother, played by Susan Seaworth-Hayes.
    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
