I was a new viewer to OLTL and I have to admit this story (and Tina) made me tune out. Not sure if I will give it another try or not. I just don't understand all the Tina love, but maybe that's because I never watched the show in her heyday....

I would like to see the end of 1968 stuff as a new chance. I don't know when they plan to end this Mendorra stuff, but whenever they do, I'd like to see it as the ending of the problems. Ron needs to get his head together and start with the brilliant stuff again. I would like to see if he plans to do anything with Miles anymore, and with Allison. There were many interesting stories that he planned to do but everything got worse when the strike came. Ron then didn't follow up on his plans, but rather decided to change stuff with Marty's and Tina's returns. I hope he gets back to the old form soon. The show needs it.

Because it should've lasted 2 episodes.

and the link is spelled incorrectly: http://marlenadelacroix.com/

You illustrated perfectly what was wrong with the 1968 story AND Marlena's commentary. Both tried to do too much with too little. Your explanation was precisely on target.

I'd love to see a return to form as well, but once I heard that they're

bringing Colin/Troy back to host a two-day game show for a Rex fantasy... even though the MacIver boys had nothing to do with game shows when they were wreaking havoc on Llanview, and this is clearly just cashing in on Ty hosting Crosswords

, I started to lose hope again.

Not only that . . . I don't think Rex even knew him. Not that I recall anyway.

It's a two-episode thing. It's not as if it's going to last several weeks. Never again do I want Ron to make the same mistake again.

^^^ Um. That doesn't sound good. I guess I'll just stick to Y&R and occasional GL when I feel like torturing myself.

Don't forget there's always that twice yearly visit to the dentist to look forward to. ;)

:lol: rhinohide - That's too funny you mention that. I just got back from a dentist appointment, as a matter of fact. Guess I should just kill two birds with one stone and flip on 'ol GL when I get home! ;)

Agreed. LOL.

And I'd love it if Ron continued to do cheestastic, kooky J.E.R. stuff occasionally within a span of a couple of episodes. It's a soap opera. Why must everyone be so serious, a la Y&R?

It was actually irritating that she even brought up JoB's Clint and MA's Maria. You could have left them out of the 1968 story and it would have neither been improved or worsened. And I agree. Two days were fun.

You know how OLTL used to do those special fantasy episodes every July around Independce Day? The 1968 stuff seemed like 1 one of those that the writers forgot to keep contained to that one episode.
