I like Sarah Brown, I don't LIKE Claudia. If the show had just been as big of a bitch/ass as they were over the Rebecca Budig/Sabine Singh situation on All My Children and brought Sarah back as Carly on General Hospital at the expense of Laura Wright, I'd probably would have been okay with it as Sarah was MY Carly.

Recently I've come to like Laura's Carly, because I see her as a different character with the Carly name and backstory anyway, but detest Claudia. They have ruined the character long before she even aired. They are making her too much like the Carly who didn't even grow, the one before Sarah evolved the character in 2000/2001.

If they brought Sarah on as a Lawyer (though Sarah said she is one) or Doctor they'd have had a better chance of making the character successful and interesting. Pairing her with Sonny was a mistake as the two characters (Sonny and Carly) were a powerful duo due to their similarities. They tried making Claudia and Sonny similar, but you can't build that type of history for a new character until time has gone by.

Personally, I want Robert Guza Jr. and Jill Farren Phelps fired. They might be nice people, but people grow stale in a job they've held for years. Guza has been at GH for more than a decade and has come and gone 3 times. His shit stinks. Jill has been with the show for 7 years, she has never brought anything to the show except bad decisions. An executive producer is also credited for doing something to the shows history that makes people remember an era. Her era is something to be forgotten, not celebrated. Wendy Riche and Gloria Monty are the only two producers that GH can credit for successful eras.

This all needs to happen soon or the show will be cancelled and even a move to SOAPnet won't save it. Of course, Brian Frons has got to go, he was never the right person for the job and now he's driven the shows into the toilet since he came on.

Your Sam hate reminded me of something she said this week that was like the words out of my mouth. I thought it was funny that they wrote that. She said something to the effect that her getting hit wasn't Monica's fault and it didn't make any difference whether Monica had been drinking or not since she ran in front of the car which was my position on the whole thing.

LOL yea she really is a twit....I seem to recall her running out in the middle of the road with Monica not even having a chance to avoid hitting her.

But I guess the court saw it as a hit and run....I guess this first one was practice. The next time she runs down Sam it will be like practice makes perfect with her killing the wench ;)

Monica hitting Sam wasnt the only offense committed here. She was drinking and driving. The courts have it on record that she has done so at least twice. Thats illegal and its a crime. I hate that Monica simply got off and that they had everyone defending her, even Sam. Did I expect her to go to jail? Of course not but she needs to be fired from the hospital which I dont see happening. She needs to lose her medical liscense bc she was drinking on the job and thats a huge no no especially in her profession. I hope she's axxed from the hospital staff

It was Monica's fault she left her to die on the side of the road. Not only did Monica continue to drive away, she tried to cover the whole accident up. It may not have been her fault that she hit Sam, but she did nothing to save or help her but instead selfishly thought of herself. Being a doctor and someone who took an oath to save lives, she should have acted differently

The bottom line is that the whole thing was a stupid plot point to justify interaction between four characters and they should have just had it be Nikolas instead of Monica. I didn't think they would make it her because they actually showed her getting out of the car and fully aware that she'd hit something. They didn't even make an issue of why she didn't do anything and it felt as if they changed the outcome once they decided not to milk it anymore.

Monica's turning to the bottle after so many losses wouldn't have been such a bad s/l if they weren't using it to tout the virtues of Emily and what she would have wanted. Alan and AJ would have wanted better for her too but Emily was everything to her. It's so silly.
