Season 2 is excellent. In no way does it echo the implosion of Lost. Unlike Lost and many other shows which attempt to imitate TP, the original program kept up its internal consistency, melding narrative concerns with Lynch's abstraction perfectly. If you don't like what they did with it, it's your problem and your perception. Don't go in expecting straight-up Blue Velvet from a show that was more than happy to toy with the supernatural as early as Episode 2. Twin Peaks was always Blue Velvet unbound from mere reality.
