and a couple of example do not work. has Stephanie ever had another man besides eric since BB started? Brook only does men related to Ridge. Days doesnt usualy have another man for marlena or Hope.

But thing is they are directly connected. They do go hand in hand and are not showen for the same reason.

Phyllis was paired with a black man named Damon. Also Victoria was paired with Neil for a short time.

While I do think more interracial relationships should be shown, the same could be said for homosexual relationships. I think there is a general fear of audience backlash (in both cases). Because even though interracial dating isn't taboo anymore, there are still those who don't think it should happen.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe OLTL tinkered with objections to the Jessica/Antonio relationship. I'm not sure if it was dropped, but I think Viki wasn't too keen on Jess and Antonio dating. Forgive me if I have that wrong.

I dont see what taylor sleeping with men from 3 fams and brooke with men from 1 had anythign to do with, but regardless, both are whores and i am kinda shocked BB has ne ver paired with one with anyone but white men, but then again BB is a rather small show who only sues family members from a few familys, but then again thats no excuse. Who was hector paired with?

(John & Roman, and she was only with john because he was at one time roman... and maybe that alex northa dude aka the real original roman...). Hope has only been paired with Bo and patrick, now when she was Gina thats another story. But i do agree days seems to play it same race in couples. lexi always has affauirs, but only with other black people. Days did dabble in Chelsea/jett, but they dropped that and him fast (thank god)

I am waiting to see a Lexie/Bo triangle or a Lexie/John, in the past maybe a Lexie/Mike triangle, it is so silly that Abe being to only black character on Days, that means that Lexie exept for Celeste had to be paired with the only male character who was black, and when she has cheated with him, have they ever had her have a sexy romanche with a white character, now it where latinAmerican Brandon Walker and there where Thomas " Tek " Cramer. Renee Jones who is a beautiful lady, should be paired with a man above!.........

stephanie kissed mass a number of times onscreen while very much married to eric. there was a steph/eric/sally/mass quadrangle. she was kissing mass then also. steph was still married to eric, but she didn't want mass to get involved with sally. so steph rushed over to kiss mass while he was on a date with sally.

well i think it is flimsy for all the soaps. b&b using the 30 minute format as an excuse as to why its main divas steph and brooke have never been paired with men of color is flimsy IMO. the lower tiered tay was paired with hector. she carried on an emotional affair with him while married to ridge. but she only kissed him i think. they were never intimate i think. BUT again tay is a lesser diva compared to the MAIN divas/faces of b&b: steph and brooke. steph and brooke have never been paired with men of color. the main divas of the other soaps have never been paired with men of color.

as for the lgbt comparison, i disagree. but if you want to discuss that and defend why you think they go hand in hand (which i disagree with), then begin that as a topic.

MAIN POINT: the big names/divas/faces of soaps have never been paired with men of color. atwt's carly and lily, b&b's steph and brooke, days' marlena and hope, gh's carly, gl's reva, oltl's viki and dorian, y&r's sharon, nikki and katherine.

days' lexie, atwt's margo are not big names/main divas/faces of their soaps. it appears that soaps reserve the interracial romances with supporting characters, while the big names/main divas/faces of the soaps are paired with white leading males.

GH has done inter-racial couples in the past - Tom/Simone, Faith/Justus, Keesha/Jason, Keesha/AJ - it's been done before, but I agree with Ryan (big surprise ), I think the networks, especially ABCD, shy away from it in fear of audience feedback.

this is my point exactly. these characters (simone, faith, keesha) are supporting characters. they are not the main divas/faces of their soap. these characters are not on the same level as atwt's lily and carly, b&b's stephanie and brooke, days' marlena and hope, gl's reva, oltl's viki and dorian, etc. the main divas are not being paried with men of color.

Didn't Phyllis use to casually sleep around with Malcolm too?
