Did you see Cate Blanchett's reaction with Marion's name was announced? She was tickled to death. :)

Yes Cate was thrilled for Marion. It was a touching moment. Cate is one gracious woman.

Cate also had an embarrassed look on her face when they showed her clip from The Golden Age.

I still am scratching my head as to how she got a nomination..... I guess it was a weak year. I mean she was good in an awful sequel. I guess maybe they still feel bad for not friggin giving her the Oscar in 1999 for Elizabeth when she DESERVED it. I am still beyond scorned that Paltrow took it home that year ahead of Cate.

Shakespeare In Love is one of the biggest travesties in oscar history. Private Ryan was robbed of the best picture oscar and Cate was robbed of the lead actress oscar.

Amen to this! I hated Shakespeare in Love....half of the movie was a friggen porno with Shakespeare and Paltrow stroking the salami...there was just no story! Half of it was sex. Plot driven at best.

Yeah i had to rewatch that part again. Not sure what look that was on Cate's face after her clip was shown. It was kind of a " lol..holy [!@#$%^&*]" type thing. Hard to say. I am astounded that Cate was double nominated this year. Her performance in The Golden Age was another fine performance. The Academy honored her performance...something i was happy that did not get overlooked.
