Claire and Jawn were adorable. I now see why Days recasted Claire. This actress has handled everything from the kidnapping to the plane crash with such poise and she has alot of talent. I will miss her. Truly a scene stealer. Loved her telling Belle to get off her and her and John's "juice talk" and banter. Drake looked like he had a blast with that. Her laughing when he lifted her up and following him around. Just cute.

Also liked the J&M scenes with the shoulder and her face when she said she loved him and that is why she stuck around.

Loved Shawn learning about Shawn Sr. BB was good there and MBE rocked when she first woke up and broke down near her father. She was also good when she found Steve and told him she was pregnant. Loved the Steve/Kayla scenes. Classic stuff, including Steve's joy of being a father. Also loved how John told Steve he couldn't do it without him, referring to the landing.

Loved Belle coming to everyone's aid (especially since she is becoming a nurse) and Marlena helping Hope and Shawn revive Bo. Intense stuff and I loved all the realism from the crash set to the makeup and injuries. Seeing that wreckage, they all needed to be messed up and they were for the most part.

Also loved Phloe and Philip's faux leg being crushed. It's the first time in forever that leg got remembered and I love it being such an important piece of the episode. I also love his laughing and acknowledging it as battlefield humor.

The police station stuff was ok. It was needed to add tension and show us loved ones waiting for word. Good job acting by all. I liked seeing Roman comforting Chelsea by putting his hands on her shoulders. We don't see him acknowledge his niece often and Max's frustration with Roman treating him like a kid was a nice touch and that has always seemed like a point of tension with them. Stax sucked and was the low point but I enjoyed Max going off on Lexie. He was an ass but I like when Lexie's Dimera roots are brought to attention and she has to deal with them.

All in all, a fantastic show and a nice follow up to Friday. Good tension and drama. Just the way it should be after a wild ride like Friday's episode.

I watched Tuesday's already and it gets even worse.

I used to semi-support them before, at least their interactions because they did have chemistry but, now, no way. It's horrible. Now it's just blatant. As weird as it sounds, when they were hardly around their family together or talking of their family together, I guess it made it easier to tolerate but now...wow. Just wow.

I kind of agree with other reactions I have seen elsewhere. I am a big Darin and Max fan but his time is up. The writers just refuse to utilize his potential. Hogan had him going in the right direction but since Abby left he's been a mess. Then they had Morgan with him and squandered that. I do think Darin will bolt when his contract is up anyway. They should just bring a new guy in or something.

On the positive side, watching Tuesday's show, John shared an adorable moment with Claire again and this time it's with Marlena right by his side and there are some other good emotional scenes too. Plus, Victor, Kate, and....Maggie...yes, Maggie is on! And she looks amazing!! It really is a good show tomorrow with so many vets.

    • Thanks. I'd forgotten about that. It is odd she wasn't asked back. Maybe they just gave up.  Harley/Philip is one of those relationships which lingered on longer than it should have. I never got the sense the show had any great interest in them together beyond the first six months or so, and there was little to no chemistry between them after that point.

    • I am just so happy with the new writing. Everything feels so much more mature. The connections between plots and characters reminds me of the eighties, and I just plain old LIKE everybody. I very much enjoyed Philip's apology tour with his two exes, and both of them being gracious to him. This version of Philip is so interesting, very flawed, but trying to do better, and I do believe he wanted the brother bond with Xander very much and is hoping to get that back. Speaking of brothers, we got Xander's first ever mention of his other brother, Bo. And how interesting that Titan is also working on a cure for sepsis. If the one with Dr Russell falls through we have a back up plan. And the seamless writing continued with Sarah trying to get out of a conference and Kayla needing to get Dr Russell out of town, I love when things just make sense like that. Shout out to Xander with cucumbers on his eyes lol And under the new regime I am not hating Stalex. I think this couple was just hammered by Ron by constantly making them sleep with other people. It was hard to root for them when the writer didn't care about them as a pairing, just about getting Rob naked. I am happy to see what happens here too. Stefan got a get well card to EJ? I wonder if it had a coded HELP ME in the message. Glad Kayla turned him down. She should never forget how he used Steve as a pawn back in the day. Characters are actually remembering this stuff these days.
    • That happens sometimes on cbs/paramount. Just refresh the page and it should work.
    • In a 1997 SOD article, Ehlers mentions that she was asked to return several times, but was surprised she wasn't asked to return for her "mother's" funeral.  This was when she returned for the 60th Anniversary event. They were a really popular pairing for a few years ago.  As an older viewer, it seemed strange seeing Beth as the odd one out, but 1998 Beth was a totally different character.  She was written as a manipulative, vixen.

    • It seems obvious based on the initial material that Korte was going to take another foolish run at Jason and Carly a la 2021 and hoped Mulcahey being back would make it work, as he wrote such famous material for Steve, Sarah, etc. I think a couple good dialogue scenes came out of them together very early on, but there was never any denying that Steve and Laura have never had and will never have any romantic chemistry, plus the audience doesn't want it. So they pivoted to her with that useless dayplayer (Brennan) and now here they all are, spinning their wheels doing nothing of value on the show. I do think PM had planned to do much more with Jason's sons and that rivalry/friction, but once he was gone so was Jake. I've rarely seen any of the core mob 3 feel so totally extraneous and directionless on the canvas. Not that I mind. Anything that makes Jason easier to get rid of works for me.
    • I just edited the 1998 SOD Awards & Laura Wright won Best New Character for Cassie on GL. Also Philip & Harley won something of some name for them as a couple & when they finished saying their effusive thanks at the mic, Grant picked Beth up & literally threw her over his shoulder & walked backstage that way. I mean, it's great that Beth Ehlers is a good sport, right?

    • nothing. The story was put on the backburner while they focused on other stuff. I think thats one of the issues i have with the show in that it sometimes struggles with balance as stories will disappear for weeks and then reappear (Chelsea's throuple for example)
