You know what will improve race relations?

When it doesn't matter WHAT COLOR you are.

ITA!

Roman, you bring up race more than anyone else here..Why do you want to constantly bring up differences if you want all races to be considered equal?.As far as I'm concerned it is a moot point! There is no need to interject this into the thread so often.

I watch the Fox News channel. Does that make me racist? And I am voting for McCain..Again, does that make me racist?...I am against the policies of Barack Obama, NOT the color of his skin! I do not appreciate the racist insinuations!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess something...You are black, Wales, aren't you?

I can tell because...Ifill's race never...and I mean never crossed my mind! If you want to improve race relations..the key is to not find every single critisism about Gwen, Michelle, or Barack as racially motivated! I am sick of everyone accusing others of being racist simply for raising questions or disagreeing!

The fact of the matter is, FOX news has a track record of making racially insensitive remarks. Wales being black, or not being black doesn't preclude her from making an observation that it is racially motivated. Your attempt to reduce her opinion regarding the treatment of Michelle, Barack and Gwen as "just because she {Wales} may be black" is offensive.

So you're saying that running a tape referring to Michelle Obama as Obama's Baby Mama isn't the least bit questionable in terms of racism?

We have differing opinions on this and I have seen enough clips to satisfy me that there are. I don't expect you to believe me nor should you. What counts is that I believe me.

I'm glad you believe you... if you don't believe you, who will?

I disagree with you. And at the very least, there is no more tainted commentary on FOX than anywhere else. I have seen all sides represented on that channel... and I, personally, have disagreed very much with some of the statements I have heard on that channel. O'Reilly's recent anti-Republican rant was an outrageously uninformed one. But I notice you people don't reference that when discussing the alleged FOX bias.

The truth isn't pretty for both sides... but at least it is reported on FOX.

Please tell me why you are so defensive.

If you are not in any way racist......why are you blowing up like this?

Because Wales said Ifill is under scrutiny because she is black! Whatever! Not true! She wrote a book about OBama for God's sake!

I simply asked a question. I am wondering what GI's cousin and mother have anything whatsoever to do with her moderating this debate? She has returned to being a radio and television talk show host.

That's why I said what I said to you. You brought it up and I'm responding......as you push this topic off of anything that has to do with issues and onto this mess.

Enjoy. :D

Ifill called her cousin BRILLIANT! She in doing so...would seemingly agree with Palin being offensive to black women! Little possible bias there IMO..

I never said she shared a brain with all black people...Not even close...that was a huge leap taken by you..

I dont really care to spend my time figuring out what offends you and what doesn't....I was just asking...Quit making things personal for God's sake! Is it really that hard?

This is the only part of your post which I think warrants some sort of response because most of the other things would be like going around in circles...that's not to say that this isn't as well.

I didn't ask you to figure out what offends me. I don't care period. I was responding to your post out of courtesy.

Since you were just asking....I just answered, That's logical to me.

You twist it however you want.

I don't take anything you say personally.....just because I found it offensive.....doesn't mean it was personal.

The only one insinuating that anyone is taking anything personal is you.

I didn't pick on you. I responded to a post and you decided to pursue it and when you weren't satisified with my response you decided to make me the problem. No thanks....not this time.

I express an opinion and if you don't like it then you don't like it. Instead of running it in the ground trying to get me to see it your way, if you would accept it then you wouldn't drive yourself to the point of having to claim, yet again, it's personal. Of course, I could help you out by letting you think I've accepted your point but then it would be a lie.....so I guess you can keep on making accusations or accept the fact that I don't see things your way and that there is nothing at all wrong with that. It doesn't mean that you don't have valid points and it doesn't negatively affect your reality for any of us to have our own reality and to hold to it.

Neil Cavuto said that the reason the housing market collapse is because of giving ownership of homes to "Minorities and other people".

And I saw the Cavuto live when he said it. Did you, Roman? Did you watch in full, in context, as well as Cavuto's follow-up to clarify what he meant? It was immediate, as he recognized the words he chose could be contrued in negative fashion.

Roman, you can twist and distort any statement you wish to justify your argument and it doesn't pass muster with me, because I saw it with my own eyes. Because you are so quick to twist and distort and mischaracterize, then I dismiss whatever else you offer on this topic.

But thanks for trying.

Why are you shouting?

Now I bring up race too much......so, who was that who has posted the "Bradley Effect" article time and time again, and now accuses me or anyone else of bringing up race all the time?

Do you even pay attention to your post or do you wake up in the morning, look at Fox News, get the Republican Talking Points Memo and spend the day saying these things over and over again? For someone who NEVER talks about race (You, Casey) once again, why do you constantly post the "Bradley Effect" article? Mulder had to point out to you just recently that an artcile you posted had the exact opposite point in it you were trying to make (I just love how you find articles, change the header and post those articles as fact, and then if we read them, we pick them apart. Keep that going....please).

Enjoy. :D

You are FAR more guilty of trying to get me to see it YOUR way...just look back...YOu are the one that has kept this subject going..NOT ME..

I'm sick and tired of going back and forth with you...I have lost what little respect I had for you...when you say Ifill was questioned because she is black! You could not be more wrong...I am done talking with you.

Brian, for the record (And listen closely) I did see that clip when he said that (I just love how, when people are shown in their true colors, they are 'taken out of context'). And no, Brian, unlike you, I don't spend my day watching racists blame people of color for every ill wind that blows through this country.

But if you do, go right ahead. I'll just stand here in the corner of the yard, holding this lamp and waiting for you to cut me on at night.

The issue to me isn't the other stations, it's Fox. If I were to make a statement about CNN then I would support that statement. Comparing Fox to other networks does not negate the instances of racist things said on Fox. Tainted commentary is not the same thing as racist commentary. No one is questioning whether or not there are questionable things going on at other stations and I've even commented before on certain biases at MSNBC but I haven't heard or ever seen MSNBC or CNN run ticker tapes that refer to any candidates as anything in an overtly racist manner.

I wouldn't know about Fox reporting the truth because I stopped watching it when I began to find it offensive and since I haven't heard of any improvements then there is no reason for me to watch it. Since it works for you, why not be satisfied with that.....not everyone is going to see things the same as you nor do I expect anyone to see things my way either.

Shouting>?

Now I bring up race too much......so, who was that who has posted the "Bradley Effect" article time and time again, and now accuses me or anyone else of bringing up race all the time?

I have always said that I would be upset if the Bradley Effect had an impact. I find it to be an interesting study..That is a little different that constant racial accusations against Fox News..Bill O'Reilly...Neil Cavuto...whomever else..

I appreciate the compliment. I dont use any source but my own brain for talking points..

I dont look at Fox News..I watch it...

Please show me what article you are talking about and how it went against...the "point" I was trying to make...There is no substance behind that statement what so ever..

So, Casey, as faras you're concerned, black people can't say anything independent of each other.......if one black person says something, then all black people must explain or must agree with that statement?

Interesting.

Yes, it is interesting and not true at all.

But black people DO vote as a block... of course, that is underscored by the overwhelming support (what is it, like 90% or something) for Barack. That's great... if he absolutely represents their interests. Of course, Bill Clinton (long heralded as our first black president) never did a damn thing for blacks.

But an interesting story to share with you... Years ago, this awesome lady named Lynne cut my hair. It was cool because we could talk politics and I could hear things from her viewpoint, that of a black woman business owner. Her opinions on the world, her viewpoints on the state of things, her notion of personal responsibility -- we laughed because I once told her that she sounded like Newt Gingrich talking! However, when it came to voting, she completely veered off into some Vote-Bot machine... Around the time of the '92 election, I asked her who she was voting for and why. She stated she would be voting for Clinton -- because she just couldn't stand Barbara Bush's pearls. Of course, that seemed an odd reason to vote a certain way, so I pressed her further. Finally, she admitted that her church sent out a one-sheet checklist telling the congregation how to vote, and that it ALWAYS was down party-line -- for Democrats. She said even when she disagreed with an opinion or issue, she felt the church elders knew better than her and she voted as they instructed.

Pass the Kool-Aid, please.

Damn.

Black people vote as a block? I dnd't know that.

Thanks for passing that information along. :D

So Brian, what you are saying is that blacks vote in one way and one way only. That blacks can't vote based on their conscious and what they believe.

Interesting. Didn't know that about black people.

Oh, and Casey, telling people that you use your brain to come up with these articles kinda sounds like you're calling others that don't agree with you stupid.

But, oh well. You know......I'm just saying. :P
