Wales, I appreciate and respect your opinions, but I really believe that statement is a bunch of BS. I have not seen one single person on FOX News who behaves in a way that would suggest they have issues with minorities.

Neil Cavuto said that the reason the housing market collapse is because of giving ownership of homes to "Minorities and other people".

Fox News: Racism Is Their Marketing Plan

Filed under: Art/Culture, General, Propaganda — Mark @ 10:58 am

A press conference will be held today at 2:30 outside of the offices of Fox News in New York. The purpose of the gathering is to deliver a petition with over 600,000 names to network executives calling for an end to the racist attacks against black Americans including Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. The petition is the work of Color of Change and MoveOn and asks Fox News CEO Roger Ailes to respond to the allegation that…

“Fox has developed a pattern of airing racially offensive attacks, then apologizing only after controversy erupts. Forced, half-hearted apologies do not demonstrate good faith when the larger pattern of offensive rhetoric continues.”

Examples of Fox’s intolerance abound, but for a brief recap of a few that occurred just this year:

* Obama’s Baby Mama

* Terrorist Fist Jab

* Knock Off Osama …uh… Obama … Well, Both If We could

* Lynching Party Against Michelle Obama.

.

Yeah. BS. Sure. Fox News isn't racist.

So you're saying that running a tape referring to Michelle Obama as Obama's Baby Mama isn't the least bit questionable in terms of racism?

We have differing opinions on this and I have seen enough clips to satisfy me that there are. I don't expect you to believe me nor should you. What counts is that I believe me.

But I bet they are sexist.......that's why HRC lost, because FN was so mean to the great HRC.

And we can add this:

Estimated the amount of time Obama has spent on front porches during the course of his life

Noted that Obama looks like the Fox News team's "one friend"

Whenever he is shown exiting a limousine, journalists mention that his Escalade must be in the shop

Scored footage of Obama visiting a Russian mobile launch missile dismantling facility with the theme from Shaft

Good thing they aren't racist.

I wuld be so disappointed if they were.

Oh, and who was that !@#$%^&*] who said he was suprised we weren't cursing at each other for "More Motherfucking Ice Tea!" and was surprised we ate with utensils and walked upright, wore clothes and actually spoke the English language?

Wasn't that..............Bill O'Reilly?

Yep. Another example of their non-racism.

All of this pontificating by Republicans claiming to (in GWB's words) embrace a "culture of life" belies their record on these issues. Can anyone find any substantial proof that all the inmates that went to the death chamber during GWB's reign as govenor were guilty? The claim that over 155 were all guilty and did not deserve at least for him to review their cases is .... sad.

All of the inmates had a trial and were found guilty

So singling out Democrats for supporting a woman's right to choose and stem cell research (which McCain supports, BTW) is selective posting in order to advance the duplicitous Republican platform.

The Vatican official singled out Pelosi and Biden who are both Catholic.

Was that in regards to his visit to a restaurant owned by someone black in Harlem? I vaguely remember reading something about his visiting a restaurant and being shocked.

On another note, last night I commended Palin for her stance on Darfur and I still think if she means it then it's a good thing. After reading the Los Angeles Times this morning (and a list of Biden's and Palin's truth stretching), I found out that the bill she claimed credit for introducing to the Alaskan Legislature was introduced by a Democrat and that Palin has not publicly pushed for it. In addition, some officials from the fund opposed the measure.

Yes, that was a black owned restaurant he went to, with Al Shaprton.

I guess we'll now hear that because he went to a black restaurant that proves he's not racist.

As far as the bill, everyone claims credit for bills hoping some won't do the fact checking to see if they supported it or if their name was on it.

One of the reasons that I don't like posting with you is it becomes very taxing. You seem to be very selective in what points you respond to and you defintitely hear what you want to hear and cannot seem to get beyond that.

I dont really care what you like or dont like about posting with me...Quit making things personal for God's sake! Is it really that hard?

I don't get what is so diffiicult about the fact that Gwen Ifill is not running for office.

I never said she was running for office

and her family relations, how she feels about them or what she says about them or what they say about her or anyohe else is not important to me.

Good for you...It is important to me..

You weren't seeking to clarify her "professionalism" as far as I am concerned. All you were doing was jumping on the bandwagon of putting her down for writing a book about Obama and assuming you know what her position is..

Who said I needed to be clarifying her professionalism? My purpose in raising questions about media bias is not to fit your definition of the manner in which I should go about doing so...Quit making things personal for God's sake! Is it really that hard?

This statement about Tom Brokaw would be more of a reason to question bias than the fact that Gwen Ifill is writing a book and has offered no statement to inidicate she supports Obama:

No one is going to question whether or not he can be a fair moderator.

Probably because being "friendly" is not the same as writing a book with a candidate's name in the title...Correct me if I am wrong, but has Brokaw written a book called Women in Politics and the Age of Palin? Or "Age of McCain"...No?..Didn't think so..

If you cannot figure out, after reading this what I find olffensive then I cannot help you. I am not going to respond to anything else by you on this subject. It's exhausted as far as I am concerned.

I dont really care to spend my time figuring out what offends you and what doesn't....I was just asking...Quit making things personal for God's sake! Is it really that hard?

I guess you can go either way on the visit but his statements still showed a lot of ignorance about black people....of the dangerous variety and he's suppposed to be a learned man and people listen to him. He's way behind the times so apparently the people who think he's great and all are either not aware of this, ignore it, or have issues with progressiveness as well.

I know the politicians lie but I guess I was hoping she was telling the whole truth on that one.

I'll be happy to say it.....it's because she's black. Some people at Fox News have an issue with certain minorities and one of the people pushing this does not understand that black people are capable of being objective and actually thinking as well....among other extraordinary things. In her mind everything is a negative.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess something...You are black, Wales, aren't you?

I can tell because...Ifill's race never...and I mean never crossed my mind! If you want to improve race relations..the key is to not find every single critisism about Gwen, Michelle, or Barack as racially motivated! I am sick of everyone accusing others of being racist simply for raising questions or disagreeing!

So, Casey, as faras you're concerned, black people can't say anything independent of each other.......if one black person says something, then all black people must explain or must agree with that statement?

Interesting.

How dare you insinuate that my critisism of Ifill is because she is black! Where do you come off? How dare you!

You know what will improve race relations?

When it doesn't matter WHAT COLOR you are.

All of the inmates had a trial and were found guilty

How many people have been sentenced to death due to a jury finding them "guilty" only for the decision to be reversed due to evidence proving their innocence. Just because they were found guilty doesn't mean they were, just like people who are found not guilty doesn't mean they were.

So please don't use that "they had a trial and were found guilty" as an excuse.

Please tell me why you are so defensive.

If you are not in any way racist......why are you blowing up like this? I simply asked a question. I am wondering what GI's cousin and mother have anything whatsoever to do with her moderating this debate? She has returned to being a radio and television talk show host.

That's why I said what I said to you. You brought it up and I'm responding......as you push this topic off of anything that has to do with issues and onto this mess.

Enjoy. :D
