I wish jesse jackson would STFU, obama is running as the American candidate not the black candidate. I'm not liking Jesse/Al sharpton rearing their ugly heads into Obama's campaign. Funny how they kept pretty much quiet during the primaries and now they are showing out before the general election.

He didn't rear his head in BO's campaign. His son is a part of it, and blasted Pops later today. Jesse made Jesse look like a damn fool, and if anyone tries to link them together........

That's theri BS game, not Obama's.

Jesse Jackson has always been a loose cannon. IN the past he blamed everything on racism. Now he's acting like a sexist pig. My partner thinks the sun rises and sets on this man. How is MY PARTNER going to explain this one away? He won't DARE call Barack a racist, he can't. So he finds something else to put him down with. Thank you Jesse Jackson for proving you are nothing more than an attention whore.

I think Jesse is mad that obama is accomplishing or is about to accomplish something that he couldn't.

I wasn't saying he was actually part of obama's campaign but he is going around talking about obama on news shows now thats what I mean't and so is sharpton. They both need to be quiet and stop trying to get obama to just care about black folks.

I lost all respect for the man today and his son basically earned a whole bunch of it at the same time...

Saw a Times article about how it looks like Obama supporters aren't donating to Hilary's camp to help retire her debt....

Sounds fine to me. She made her decision and she can deal with the consequences of her selfish actions. Don't expect a handout from us when you tried to destroy our candidate and spent weeks hoping something horrible would happen to him.

Anyone hear anything more about Obama's VP choice? I hear Edwards has put his name out there yet again....

Nothing yet, GH.

That probably won't happen until around the convention.

Jesse never had my respect, on top of the fact that he couldn't carry MLK's underwear much less take his place. The man is foul.......and I hope this incident will put him out to pasture....

Like he deserves.

I was disappointed in that story, very disappointed. It did not do Obama any favors and it did not do the Democrats any favors. I really very sincerely believe that Obama must corall the youngsters on his campaign. He has not won the White House, he is not a prohbitive front-runnter against McCain. He does not need mistakes and that story was a mistake, and that story was leaked by Obama's camp.

At some point in the very near future, Obama very seriously needs to make changes in hsi campaign or he will lose this election.

It does him a lot of good to show HRC supporters and HRC herself that Obama will NOT be bullied. Nor will his supporters. Besides her supporters are doing the same thing.

There was this woman on CNN yesterday spouting a bunch of bs about how this is very "difficult" for her (supporting Obama that is) because she "frankly doesn't like him" and thinks he's "elitist". Well lets see honey why exactly don't you like Obama? Didn't bother to go into specifics though. And I don't want to start a race debate or anything but the woman was white and I got the impression that she simply didn't like Obama nor trust him because he's black. Therefore she refuses to consider supporting him.

Honesty I'm not being arrogant or anything but I really think he can win the White House without her and her diehard supporters (some of whom are really Republicans pretending to be Dems). The bottom line is that the choices for President has never been more distinct or opposite. Bitter HRC supporters can cry, whine, and threaten to vote for McCain all they want. The reality is that coming November the real Democrats will come out in huge numbers to vote for the Democratic Nominee. And furthermore I'm willing to bet that a significant part of people who voted for Hilary will end up voting for Barack. But let's just say I'm wrong and that only 20% of HRC supporters/voters come out for Obama this fall. I still think that combined with all the new voter turnout, the voters he has already gotten, and the Independents who will move to his side will be MORE than enough for him to get enough Electoral Votes.

I just don't think HRC is necessary nor do I think her diehard "Nobama" supporters really matter. They dug their own grave and they can stay in it. If they want to vote for McCain then in the words of Britney it's their "prerogative". Just please don't go b*tching about the rising cost of oil or the horrible economy if by some miracle John McCain wins this November. IF they stay at home or vote for McCain and he actually wins I won't be disappointed in myself or Obama because everyone will know who to blame...Hilary Rodham Clinton. She created this situation/mess. She did it with her own lil plots in mind.

All I can do at this point is help the Democratic Party and my nominee as much as possible and her that ego and lust for power haven't destroyed our one chance of fixing this country.

I must say that Britney Spears should have left Bobby Brown's song alone.

Clinton and Obama are going to do what is politically expedient for them. Their supporters are more emotional about all of this than either of them probably are or will be.

If Obama loses the election then Clinton won't be to blame. She can only cause his chances harm if she goes out and campaigns against him in some way which she has no reason to do. The downside of the protracted primary is that it created a lot of tension that hasn't easily dissipated. I know that if he loses some in the media will hop right on questioning her part in his loss though.

IA with you that the whole power of Clinton is greatly exaggerated by the media. Some of them keep proposing that Obama should go down on his hands and knees to grovel at her feet and to meet all the demands of all of her die hard supporters and I think that's ridiculous. I don't think they should be saddled with her campaign debt at all since she was the one who got herself into it in the first place.

Obama just needs to treat the Clinton faithful the same as he treats everyone else. Members of the media such as CM may have dubbed her the leader of the women's movement but the question really is did the majority of women and if so, where were they when she needed to be put over the top?

Even though I prefer Obama to Clinton doesn't mean that IA wholeheartedly with him either or that I don't see how insensitive some of their supporters have been to each other. One of the things I find somewhat annoying it that although it's true that Clinton supporters have to choose between McCain or Obama or not to vote, I'm not big on that they should just suck it up or not complain if McCain wins. They can complain as loudly as the next person since they didn't get their choice in the first place. Furthermore., Obama supporters who say that wouldn't appreciate it being said to or about them if the positions were reversed, no matter how true it might be.

I went and read the article and I find it disappointing that they used language that could not be reprinted and that this is a story in the first place.

I don't see why it should be looked upon as some horrible thing that people who don't care for Clinton don't want to contribute to paying off her campaign debt. I don't blame them. I've never contributed to anyone's campaign nor have I ever been motivated to do such and if I did, I certainly wouldn't contribute to paying off someone else's campaign debt.

Obama can speak to those supporters all he wants to but they're adults and free to make their own decisions and the fact that they aren't falling into line shows that they're not the mindless followers that certain people tried to make them out to be.

I don't take issue with their position but if they released the story, then it was quite foolish on their part. Even though I agree with them on not wanting to contribute, if the intent was to show that the Clinton backers are trying to extort money from them in exchange for help, then that's not news anyway. It's not a secret that politics is a dirty business and fanning the flames only keeps this going on longer.
