May 9, 200817 yr Member I don't know about that one. However, I know that AMC has the worst character names in the whole of daytime and beyond. They're not even celeverly campy. Hell, they aren't even campy... Just idiotic. Walt Willey has told the story a few times about how she conceived the name on the toilet. I think he sees it as endearing, but I'm embarrassed for Megs to even have admitted something like that. She's bizarre.
May 9, 200817 yr Member Here's the picture of Courtney Bugler http://bp2.blogger.com/_V4OaHJt7JTM/R_RDwp...r+treatment.jpg She wasn't very good but I don't think she was that much worse than most of AMC's scriptwriters (outside of now long-gone Karen Lews and Michelle Patrick). Her last script was very good and she wrote the episode with Angie and Jesse's prayer at the dinner table several weeks ago, which had some beautifully-written scenes.

May 9, 200817 yr Member I keep forgetting. LOL I might add them this weekend.....if I remember. Great! Walt Willey has told the story a few times about how she conceived the name on the toilet. I think he sees it as endearing, but I'm embarrassed for Megs to even have admitted something like that. She's bizarre. Bizarre is far too light a judgement... Unbelievable.
May 9, 200817 yr Member Bulger pretty much wrote stuff along the same lines as McTrash. She was pretty hacky most of the time..... However, I know that AMC has the worst character names in the whole of daytime and beyond. They're not even celeverly campy. Hell, they aren't even campy... Just idiotic. Uhm wow I couldn't disagree more. I think they have some of the more ORIGINAL names on daytime
May 9, 200817 yr Member Here's R Sinclair's transcription of Courtney Bugler's gems: RYAN: Well, you remember -- before we got married? ANNIE: When you took me away to the beach. RYAN: That is just geography. You see, that time where it was just you and me and the ocean -- we'd never had time like that before, ever, and it was just -- it was incredible. ANNIE: It was amazing. RYAN: And time like that is going to be hard to come by very often, you know, with children and exes and work and just life. Life happens, and most of it's good, but some of it is hard. And when it gets hard, people -- they're going to try to crowd us and try to push us off our beach. ANNIE: So, steal some sand? RYAN: Steal some sand -- Steal some moments. You think about it -- Each grain of sand -- you know, individually -- is very rough and hard and sharp and really not all that pretty, you know? But when you put them all together, you get this beautiful beach, this beautiful, soft, smooth beach. So I -- I guess what I'm trying to say is when things get crazy, we just got to put together the sand, you know, take our beach back. I love you, and I know that we're going to be able to stay on the shore. I know that no matter how rough the waters get, you just got to fight with me. Edited May 9, 200817 yr by Sylph

May 9, 200817 yr Member Now take a look at Mary Sue Price at work (also Sinclair's transcription): Hannah: Is Carly short for Caroline? Carly: Why is this bimbo asking me stupid questions? Hannah: I'll go with Carly. So, what's your last name these days? Carly: Can I get a real cop, please? She's obviously having trouble with the form. Hannah: I'm gonna go with Quatermaine... Carly: It's Benson, baby. AJ's your problem, now. Hannah: Do you want to tell me what went on tonight? Carly: No I don't. Hannah: Why don't we start from the very beginning -- Carly: You mean when you blew into town, brought your butt in here and went after Sonny? Or when my tax dollars paid your salary while you slept with him? Or do you want to talk about when you almost sent him to prison? Hannah: If Sonny ends up in jail, it's because of you. Carly: Why am I dealing with this FBI slut? Officer: Do you need assistance? Carly: No, she ruins people's lives all by herself, but thank you. Hannah: I'm fine. Carly: You keep telling yourself that. Edited May 9, 200817 yr by Sylph
May 9, 200817 yr Member I liked Beall at first, too. I am a fan of GH's longtime scriptwriter, Mary Sue Price, who is fantastic at writing confrontation scenes. There is so much attitude, no holds barred, and I love it! I mean, to any gay male soap watcher, that is just to die for! One of my favorites from Price is when Brenda and Skye had a little catfight in November of 2002. Skye: Jax and I made love tonight -- and it was fabulous. Brenda : Well, that's great, Skye. Good to know. Last time I saw you in bed with Jax, you had all your clothes on. So, I'm sorry, just explain this to me. How do you working girls do that? You just hike your skirt up, right? Skye: Gee, Brenda, I guess you'd know better than anyone. But, seriously, either way works for me. Edited May 9, 200817 yr by Sylph

May 9, 200817 yr Member Well, I guess that's something positive. Partly. We want his name deleted from the credits entirely.
May 9, 200817 yr Member Partly. We want his name deleted from the credits entirely. We want him banished from the realm of television writing PERIOD...
May 9, 200817 yr Member We want him banished from the realm of television writing PERIOD... It is scandalous that this hack is still writing while, say, Michelle Patrick is gone. For now, I hope.
