I use whitening toothpaste by Arm & Hammer, I floss, then I use BLUE mouthwash. The color blue is important because it whitens your teeth.

I'm also hooked on Crest whitening strips. those help also.

but I'm an aspiring actor so that's why white teeth are important to me.

Then again, I'm also a guy with attraction toward people with white teeth.

I prefer trays since it feels like more coverage is being taken care of. I just tried Aquafresh whitening trays. The trays themselves are soft plastic, very flexible. You just pop them on for 30-45 minutes, very easy to use. There's no mess involved either! Have you heard of these trays?

I had vaneers put on my four front top teeth almost 20 years ago. I had a developmental line on one of the teeth and they were not very even. Two years ago I had my teeth whitened by my dentist; she fitted me with a tray and prescribed carbamide peroxide gel. I used it for a week, then had the vaneers replaced with new ones. The only problem I had with it was the carbamide peroxide causes teeth sensitivity during use and for about a week after. But you know what they say, "no pain, no gain".

I wore braces for nearly 6 years, from the age of 10 until 16. I was a very non-compliant patient; I used to cut the arch wire with wire cutters because they hurt so much. Finally I insisted on having them removed; my parents were kind of pissed. My teeth are fairly straight and my bite is OK per my current dentist. My front teeth were a little uneven, but the porcelain veneers took care of that cosmetically. Your orthodontist really should have ground the cement completely off of your teeth when he removed the braces. It isn't that difficult to do and it is his job. I'm sure your regular dentist can take care of it for you.

My teeth were not terribly discolored as I never smoked and have had regular dental care. I had them whitened only because I knew I was getting my old veneers replaced ($750.00 per tooth, 4 teeth done) and I wanted the whiter ones. They have to match your other teeth or it looks funny.

This is something that should be discussed with your dentist. White is great but even with good teeth, it can weaken them. I think the new Listerine quick desolving strips look great and I'd probably try them. You just have to make sure that your gums are in shape for it. If you damage them, you are doomed for frequent dates with the dentist. This comes from someone who just spent 15,000 on her teeth.

Well actually my regular dentist is an orthodontist as well so I guess he just forgot to remove the cement but either way I was just happy to get them off. I hated having to go to the dentist like twice a month and have them cleaned and adjusted and what not. This was back when I was a teenager (ages 13-15 so I wore them for almost two years) and of course I was going through raging hormones at the time and other moody issues so I wasn't really a fan of my dentist. Now, I just love the guy and we talk like father and son. He understood we didn't really like him but that we were teenagers so that was a main reason but now he is a really good friend and has been my dentist for almost 13 years.

I'm right there with you. I have a tendency to look at people's mouths first and fixate on it. Good teeth are very important but everyone should consult a professional before 'self whitening.' I know that's a pain sometimes but it could be worth it. Has anyone done Lumineers? They look awesome. I wasn't a candidate for them (smoking.......quit now or never start) but they are like permanent contacts for your teeth. No major work and they do look awesome.

Yes, weakening enamel becomes an issue when you whiten. You have to be careful. I have tried a couple products that had me in pain the next day when a cold breeze hit my teeth! I like the aquafresh trays because they advertise that they were designed by cosmetic dentists, and have right amount of gel to NOT weaken enamel. And to me, trays are less messy.

My dentist occasionally sends out a newsletter about relevant dental issues. I remember getting one that mentioned that using a lower concentration peroxide (carbamide peroxide is generally used for whitening) does a better job in the long run. It is slower to whiten teeth, however the teeth will remain white longer. Also, it causes less tooth sensitivity. You can overdue tooth whitening too. The teeth develop a bluish/transparent look; once you have gone that far, nothing will reverse it. You end up needing veneers.

    • I agree that Keith's version of Ted does come across as younger. I thought that Ted's conversation with Kat today was interesting. He painted a picture that no one including the audience has seen before. Leslie behaving like he described why he was initially drawn to her, though of course it doesn't excuse him of hurting/cheating on Nicole. I did like Ted's honesty/vulnerability in his conversation with Kat. I also continue to like Bill's relationship with Naomi. I believe he does genuinely love her and vice versa. Like she stated today he doesn't make it easy for her to love him, but she does. I would like to see them team up one day and be on the same side with something. I think that it's interesting that June doesn't know who the pictures of the two children are. I think it might be an older picture of her and Hayley together as siblings, like some people up here have already suggested. I also wonder what Ted will get Eva for her birthday. And I liked Eva giving it a little to Leslie on today's show when she brought up that people may soon suspect Leslie regarding Laura's accident. Leslie tried to spin it more like it may have been Eva's doing to Kat, but I did like Eva standing her ground and telling Leslie she wouldn't allow herself to be used so that Leslie could get closer to Ted.
    • You make some really good points here. I think Abigail Klein is quite likeable she's just been written as very wishy washy and cookie cutter.   There is nothing that makes her stand out as Patch/Kayla's daughter like you stated. Ron never seemed to have a clear idea what to do with Stephanie or who to pair her with.  I do think it's a fixable problem, but she needs to get away from Alex, IMO.
    • NuTed comes off looking and sounding like a weakling compared to both Nicole and Leslie. Smh.

ENOUGH WITH THE VIOLIN. I'M READY TO BURN IT.
    • Keith you're doing amazing Sweetie
    • I'm not caring for Ashley right now. Initially, I liked her but not right now. Currently, I don't care for her individually or with Derek. I can understand her not liking him doing stuff like leaving things around/drinking straight out of the carton. But she still comes across as immature and sheltered to me with her approach in trying to deal with him/their relationship. You can tell she's never really lived with anyone before outside of Jan. She needs to grow up a bit and get some more life experience. Derek probably should just move out at this point. I don't want Ashley near Andre either. Andre has grown on me and deserves someone more interesting and more mature.

date: Thursday, May 15 | Teresa Zimmerman, Judy Tate | Anthony Pascarelli Uh-oh, trouble is a-brewin' between Bill and Dana. What could come out of them meeting up? Derek is a complete slob; I'd dump him over it. I really would. I appreciate that Ted is not running away from his actions nor trying to really excuse them. He's accepting them. But I need more responsibility to be owned up to. Bill just read Dana to filth about her names and wigs, and I kind of love it. They definitely are giving villainous lovers to me. Ashley isn't this loose or at ease with Derek... but she is with Andre. This is proof that Andre is the guy for her! And just as I wanted to try and forgive Ted, he goes and tries to gaslight Naomi in defence of Bill. Ouch... imagine your "mom" forgetting it was your birthday. How horrible. Eva deserves better. Eva, you should've kept your mouth shut... because you just put Laura's accident back on Dana's mind. Once again, Katherine is smarter than a lot of soap cops; she may be in the business with Chelsea, but she should be going out for detective. And I am sure no one will believe her again. June is still being June; I pray she does not change to appease others. If my boyfriend keeps having to come to me after things have happened... that is a red flag to me that there is something wrong in our relationship. So, Dana does not like the word "crazy", does she? Because, if the shoe fits... maybe she would prefer clinical terms instead? The Dupree grandchildren love recording things they likely shouldn't be. Audio. Video. It's a trend/character trait. Yes, Dana has a very vivid account... let that speak volumes, Katherine. Do not fall for this bitch's scheme again. You know the truth. Seek it. Notes: "The role of..." voiceover is back, and I couldn't be happier about it. I miss those voiceovers so much. Welcome aboard, Keith D. Richardson, because you are excellent! Hitting the ground running, emoting, and most importantly, no rocking or swaying while you're meant to be still.
    • Miss Kitty Kat Brat is my favorite nickname!
