Members NYC123
AMC: Identity Theft: (3 Stars/5 stars) Under new h/w's Esensten & Harmon Brown, AMC is trending towards emotionally weighty tales & away from cartoonish bells & whistles...it's signature humor has resurfaced w/ Walt Willey & JY & no longer just MEK making the wisecracks...Still weak in the young-love dept. & Spike is deaf doesn't pack the same punch as "Zarf comes out as Zoe" Heart Monitor: (2 Stars/5 stars) PV is home of one of daytime's most popular pairings - Zendall. Jack & Erica's romance is getting some TLC...As for the rest, we know we're supposed to root for RyAnnie & Jon/Ava but there's little evidence of any organic chemistry... Population Control: (3 Stars/5 stars) Fans miss Julia Barr & Cady McClain, & the show took a hit w/ the exits of Bruening & Havins. Aside from the oversaturation of Greenlee & Ava, newbies are introduced at a palatable pace, & players who viewers most want to see (Zendall, Tad, Adam) haven't strayed too far from the frontburner. Plot Points: (2 & 1/2 Stars/5 stars) Brown & Esensten are doing a stellar job of returning the show to scale, but it was too much to have Adam abandon Krystal in labor & try to sell her baby on the black market. Historical Preservation: (3 Stars/5 stars) Multiple generations are present in the story-telling, & the past now enriches the present, as when Erica commemorated the anniversary of Mona's death. Overall Grade: (2 & 1/2 Stars/5 stars) AMC is a show on the mend...
Members nell17
That is from Soap Opera Digest's Report Card of the Soaps so far. I'm glad AMC is on the mend. I'm just not sure if the viewers who are watching now have the patience to stick around long enough to witness the changes that the new writers intend to bring. Members Cheap21
I think Id tend to agree. For romance, Annie/Ryan are the only ones doing anything for me. The show isnt living up to its potential
Members EricMontreal22
"but it was too much to have Adam abandon Krystal in labor & try to sell her baby on the black market." But that was not under B/E (and was a while back anyway--before I thought this session of report cards fit)
Members RuAsRuAnAu
AMC continues to fail. Esensten & Brown better work harder because November Sweeps are aorund the corner. If AMC's ratings decrease from July Sweeps, will the budget soon follow? If so, by how much? 3%? 6%?
Members dm.
Then maybe they should have kept Kay Alden and give her HW, right RuAsRuAnAu? On the other hand, ABC Daytime had a reason why they let her go.
Members R Sinclair
They also had a "reason" for hiring McTrash in the first place and bringing on JHC. So ABC's reasons suck!
