I do not understand what happens to TPTB at ATWT. We go for months with not great stuff, and then they shine for a brief period, then back to yuck. This happened last year as well. I thought the serial killer storyline went into high gear and got really good near the end last year, all the right notes were being hit. It was a plot driven storyline, but the reveals led to character moments that mattered.

I

I don't understand it either, but I am happy that finally after nearly a year of a horrid show we are finally getting back to good ATWT again, I really hope it continues.

This would be the perfect time to bring back Dr. Ben. After all he was the resident brain surgeon at Memorial, but alas I think Carly's illness will bring Dr. Chris Huges back to JokeDale, even though when he left he was going to be specializing in Pediatrics.

I agree this would be the perfect time to bring back Ben even if only for this story rather than some unknown doctor. Like you though I am afraid it will be Chris, the pediatrician, to the rescue. I'll be okay with that if he just talks about a patient of his that had something similar that another doctor who was a neurosurgeon was able to treat. I don't want Chris to suddenly come back as a neurosurgeon.

They don't bring on anyone who can't potentially be put in a romance. And for Ben they'd have to bring on a woman of color, since they'll never pair him with anyone else.
