Cheap, I think we saw Tabitha's basement once before when Cracked Connie created Sessel.

And ITA with everything you said! I also think Vincent has only been disguised as Valerie recently, because who has been hitting Valerie? I mean, I remember once before it showed her bruised face and her begging to stop or something like that.

Well, my Passions viewing has been fixed, and just in time for the finale. This is going to be long. You have been warned.

The Good:

Tabby/Endora/Kay/Miguel: Why is it that Kay's failure to use magic only happens when she's not placed in a life or death situation? Miguel finally learning that Tabitha and Kay are witches was good. The neat little recap of previous supernatural occurrences was perfect. So Miguel and Endora have been kidnapped, seemingly never to be seen again - I hope not. Endora is adorable, and I'm actually liking the Miguel/Kay parring.

Whitney's goodbyes: Loved her farewell to best mate Theresa. That was sad, and Lindsey really sold it. Brook wasn't as good, but then the montage came, which was really touching, and I started to feel a slight change in Brook. It's not Brook's fault. Ever since Chad's death, the material just hasn't been there. No emotional impact in the writing at all, which was compounded by Brook no longer caring. Her scenes with Eve were played better. Eve's drunkenness was off-putting the emotional impact of the scene, and I actually felt more when Sam and Julian said they'd miss her.

Sheridan/Luis/Marty: I really liked the Sheridan and Luis scenes. I could really feel that they were once a couple, who were so much in love. I totally believed both sides. MW is the saving grace of Sheridan's in consistent behaviour. While most actors tend to fizzle when their character is being ruined, MW is really bringing it - it's great. Her scenes watching Marty were good, but lacked a connection with me, probably due to being a new viewer.

Sam & Ivy: I'm glad they ended up reconciling. For some reason, I don't really care that it was all out of the blue, it was just nice that they were finally happy with each other.

Vincent being alive: You knew he would be. Blackmailer Vincent is so back!

The Bad:

E/T/G: I'm placing this here, because I felt the writing really ruined what could have been great. I had no problem with E/T/G's scenes during the week. I actually thought everything was moving along (Ethan was comatosed for just a week-ish). The problem I had, was Theresa telling Ethan her secret - "You have a son." Not once did she mention Little Ethan's name, something which any sane person would do. Duh, Theresa, if you don't actually say his name, you haven't actually told him your secret! This alone screamed Ethan doesn't really know the truth. Meanwhile, Gwen's mystery man, was so obvious. Sadly, I never connected the two. The twist was awesome, but was let down by the above dialogue. It muddied what should have been clear, and the fans got screwed, again. On a plus side, the E/T build up was nice, even if it was false.

Vincent/Valerie: This reveal was weird. I thought Valerie was supposed to be another personality, yet, Vincent whipped off a prosthetic Valerie mask, which confused the whole situation. That was a big let down.

Fox/Esme: I like these two as a couple, but everything seemed to move uber fast, that it felt like I'd missed a months worth of build up. Fox's shooting was unexpected, and I failed to connect with Esme's plight. If Viki is the shooter, then how anti-climatic. Does this show really need another screwed up person?

TC/Simone/Jessica: Where were they? JER has screwed TC really badly. Surely the poor guy deserved a goodbye scene with Whitney? And why is Jessica stuck in story-land-limbo? Disappointing.

Chad's death: The aftermath has been appalling. Not even a ripple, in what should have had a bigger affect. Eve and Julian thought he was their son at one point, yet they care more about their recently found psychotic son, Vincent, that the relations that really need their attention. I don't really believe that Eve would blubber that much, over a person who she hardly knows.

The unsolved Cliffhangers: There are certain things that haven't been resolved/been forgotten. Fancy's rapes is an issue that should've been addressed, instead of glossed over. Such an important subject has been treated poorly. What happened to Vincent's love for Ethan? Was this not his motive for blackmailing Theresa? One minute it's there, and the next it's gone. Unbelievable.

And The Ugly:

Alistair/Pretty/Fancy: I love John Reilly, but hate Alistair. I don't understand his motives for wanting to hurt/kill everyone. He's callous and vile, and basically a celebration of Evil. He doesn't make for an interesting character. Alistair is the worst kind of character you can have on a show. The Al/Pretty alliance feels forced. Like Pretty is that desperate for the love and acceptance of an evil man, that she'd willingly go along with his horrendous plot to control Fancy via a brain implanted computer chip. I'd buy it if she was unaware of what Al had planned, but anything else is implausible. The brain chip is boring, because it's totally uncreative. I like that Pretty is confused about Al's true motives, but still, this doesn't really feel right, where her character is concerned.

Overall, this wasn't a good season finale, which for most fans, would've been more like the series finale, and should've acknowledged this, by giving something back to the 8 years of loyal fans. It shouldn't have gone for the "everything must end on a cliffhanger" approach, as this took away from what it should have been about - a celebration of the show as a whole, that contained the feeling that Passions were ending, but also beginning on DirecTV.

    • For years I did NOT go by Laura's opinion of Luke. Today I certainly do not go by Laura's opinion that Sonny somehow is good for Port Charles. Actually when it comes to being a judge of people's characters, and the issue is Laura, I just remember Esme.
    • Good point. It would provide some conflict with Jack. As much as I am not interested in Claire, I don't find it difficult to understand why she might be a bit reluctant  to commit to a guy who has already been divorced twice or is  3 times?before he is 30. That's a natural obstacle that Claire would be hesitant about. But in GC every relationship is true love and various past marriages are forgotten.

I’m in NYC, and I can’t help but wonder if NYC prosecutors, politicians, etc. ever felt the way that Laura did, back in the 80s-90s when they were taking down the mob.  “Oooh, don’t put John Gotti in prison. The guy who comes in after him might be worse”
    • Happy 18th Birthday, Sophia! I like that Tate gave her a birthday party. And that Marlena counseled him about whether or not he has feelings for Sophia, and his relationship with Holly. I like how messy Tate is and I hope he continues to be messy. He just needs to have more argument/fight scenes with Doug III

Days just needs to work a little bit more on establishing better chemistry between Tate and Sophia, but I still think that’s mostly due to Rachel Boyd. Sometimes, I think that Sophia might secretly be scheming, but with the way RB plays it, (if that’s what they’re going for), it doesn’t seem to be working. Tate was also really sweet and dorky during the party too The drug scenes didn’t do much for me though. I don’t mind that Kevin panicked and ran off with the drug once he heard Steve and Shawn coming, but I felt like that story was the weakest part of today. But I am interested in seeing what happens next. And I couldn’t help but laugh when I noticed that Steve and Shawn had matching jackets Btw, I see Mayor Price established a quid pro quo with Xander today lol I wouldn’t mind that being more than just a plot point. It could lead to some pretty good drama if it’s handled correctly. And it would be a lot better than Xander declaring war on Sweet Bits/Chanel and Felicity.  And Stephanie, finally having her mother to confide in about her life, her relationship with Alex, etc. has been one of the best things about the Paula/Jeanne episodes. The book thing still seems very Ron/Jamey-like though, mostly because it’s so centered around Alex, sort of like how GH used to make storylines about Liz all about Finn or Franco Hopefully, Stephanie talks to Kayla about the book. I’d like to hear more of her perspective on it. I also like that Kayla and Marlena were there for each other as well. These are such better ways to use all three of them. And, we got an update about John One other thing I’ve noticed about the Paula/Jeanne episodes (except for the ones that are worked on by Jamey) is that they’re longer than Ron episodes. Episodes usually clock in at around 40-41 minutes now, as opposed to 35-37, or as short as 31. I like that.
