OLTL Discussion: Week of June 4th

I would love to read the instructions for this story to the breakdown/scriptwriters. It might well just read like that -- only insert 'another random body part for Friday'.

Is anyone else scared by the thought that OLTL could win the Best Show statue? I only hope the voters look at the current aitings as well as that one episode before casting ballots.

I think OLTL does stand a chance of winning for the Todd execution. They also submitted John's funeral. ZZZZZZZZZ. I think they could win because you know winning a daytime emmy isn't based on merit. If ABC votes ABC and CBS splits its votes, then OLTL will win.

The bad thing is it gives Frankie undeserved kudos.

I dont know what it is, but i am loving this week also. And I dont know whats wrong with me, but I actually like the Miles/Marty stuff. Its kind of creepy. I think the actor who plays Miles is doing a pretty good job... at least among newcomer standards.

I still don't like the teens. I think they are the weakest part of the show.

Does anyone else think the makeup dept has been going a bit over the top lately??

Truly. I was somewhat horrified. I gasped. I mean...wow!

Thought the girl who plays the bad girl on that show is a really good singer (if that was really her voice). Her 5-10 seconds of singing was the only bright spot in that.

It wasn't that bad IMO. That man who plays Cole cannot dance or sing. KA, Brittney, Langston and Markko were pretty good. Some of the extras were good, and Kathy Brier, the woman is excellent. As far as Broadway talent on the show, she is it.

What was cheesy and stupid IMO, is it just popped up there for no reason at all. I was watching along and thought, what is this??? You know though four days of it is a lot. I know there are a lot of RC fans out there, but this is what worries me. I'm not worried that he isn't a good writer, I'm worried that he is so tied to Frank and this is what Frank wants -- the daily OLTL song and dance hour.

Ron solely wont even show until a few months. Im tired of people saying he has been CO-HW for months. we have only been seeing his writing as Co-HW for about a month, maybe a little less. With that, we have seen some changes. We have heard mentions of history and better writing. Singing and dancing hour, I believe is not what Frank wants. I believe thats a Frons call. He pimps certain things on his soaps. He does this musical on OLTL, brings in Jon Groff, he uses Dancing with the Stars reject dancers on AMC, Broadway actors on AMC to kiss Bianca, The Tarzan actors on AMC, and you can't tell me that was Julie Caruthers. What the hell is Valentini going to do, say he hates it. Frons gives him an interview, and he praises the hell out of that stuff, why? because its his job. I am confident because that is all I can be. Ron watches the show, and he has for years, before he was even writing for it. He does have a passion for it, and I believe he will do well by the show.

    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)
