Interesting blog from Cady today. She addresses rumors on her firing - it wasn't bc of the Julia Barr blog supposedly. Also she answers why Palmer wasn't around, etc.

Anyway a good read - I'm still so sad that Dixie is gone :(

For The Record…

February 2nd, 2007

there were 781,883 requests for this site in the month of January 2007.

Last week alone, ending February 1st, there were 467, 289 requests.

The last post contained 341 comments, all expressing encouragement to me on future endevors, for which I cannot thank you enough.

Thank you also for the 5600 signatures on the Dixie petition. Wow.

I do not believe I was let go for what I said about Julia Barr’s dismissal in my ABC blog. Many other people at ABC expressed their gratitude for that blog as there was no opportunity for us all to come together and express our love for her as a group. I think the decision to let me go had already been made by the time that blog was written. I worked very closely with Julie Carruthers on that blog. If she thought I had written something that was inappropriate, she would always say so and I would apologize and adjust. I had no intention of criticizing ABC or AMC and believe in my heart that I never have. I simply wanted to praise Julia and express my respect for her.

There is a big difference between criticism and a healthy expression of caring. I know I always cared. A lot. I cared about the integrity of the characters. I cared and still care about my fellow actors. If this makes me a pain in the ass sometimes, well, every actor is a pain in the ass sometimes. I am trained to ask questions in order to bring to light the human intention behind every action, in order to tell the story at the highest possible level that I am capable of. That is my job. I care very much about what I do, and the people I do it with. I care about daytime TV, as it has always had the potential to touch so many lives in a unique and beautiful way. The ABC blog was designed specifically for a unique opinion by a person who had love, respect and a healthy sence of humor towards the medium.

James Mitchell was not present at the PV Hospital scenes because he was feeling unwell from a cold and needed to go home and rest. He’s a beautiful human being and a real trooper and would have stayed if he could have, I know.

What I think is important to remember is that everything must evolve. AMC is no exception. The show will grow and become something new, and I hope, something wonderful. Tad and Dixie will always have their place in time. I was prepared for it to continue, but it was not meant to be and I respect that. I hope you can find other characters to invest in and have fun with. There are many more moments that will occur you won’t want to miss, I am sure.

As for me, I am playing lots of music, and getting some sleep at long last! I look forward to seeing you at a gig now and then, and I will keep you updated on my whereabouts. Please let me know where I can find you!

lots of love,

Cady

    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
