In January, viewers were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the set of âBeyond the Gatesâ when food and lifestyle contributor Sunny Anderson visited the soap operaâs Atlanta studio for a segment that aired on âThe Drew Barrymore Show.â
As part of her duties, which also coincided with Anderson being honored with a walk-on role, she conducted interviews with some of the showâs cast members, including Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Ambyr Michelle (Eva Thomas) and Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana âLeslieâ Thomas).
The Tunie and Davis interview aired on February 3, while the Michelle and Mann-Grantâs interview is set to air on the Tuesday, March 3 episode of the syndicated daytime talk show.
In a clip released last month by CBS Media Ventures, which produces and distributes the Drew Barrymore-hosted talk show, Anderson discussed her experience with Barrymore and Ross Matthews, and shared what she learned, including some soap opera trade secrets, and even how input from the costume, hair, and makeup departments, among others, helps create the showâs identity.
Although details surrounding Andersonâs walk-on role were unavailable at press time, her episode is slated to air in May.
