NYC Politicians Want Latest 'Survivor' Pulled

It's all for ratings and publicity. Let's face it, Survivor should have lasted three or four seasons only. The show is getting staler and staler. The same type of people always end up on it and the same melodramatic [!@#$%^&*] always goes down.

I think the producers should just can the show after this season and sit back and count their billions. Why continue to beat a dead horse?

IA with you 100%, Bree.

I've only watched Survivor for its first few seasons, then I got sick of it. I can't believe it's still on the air.

But after this extremely controversial season airs, I'm sure it'll be canned.

And the show started losing a lot of viewers last season because it was up against ABC's Dancing with the Stars. I was cheering up and down when week after week, DWTS kept beating Survivor in the ratings. :D

I think it is a huge disservice to be "colorblind", and it's not an attack on you sweetness, just the whole idea of "colorblindness". It makes the assumption that everyone doesn't have differences, although we do. What's important is to be aware of those differences and understand that there will be things that you can't relate to.

Ok, I agree with that, maybe what I meant is that I know a LOT of people who are racist-and I do believe we all are to a degree- that would not even associate with people if they're not of the same race as them(I'm serious), and I never cared, as a matter of fact I found it much more interesting to get to know different cultures and I feel fortunate to come from a bilingual country, speak three languages and have grown up knowing two cultures.

Well, the outright "I hate [insert whatever group of POC] and I won't associate with any of them" is a very loud, but very small group of racists. The dangerous ones are the subtle ones; the ones who go "I'm not racist, but why does this GOC do [insert some negative stereotype]", or "I'm not racist, I have [insert number of POC you know that hasn't wanted to kick your ass at some point]". They're the ones who'll do the real damage because being outwardly racist is just poor form and so politcally incorrect.

And see that goes to show that there are different tastes. I hate Dancing With The Stars, and felt it should have been cancelled. The first season was okay, but last year I did not watch any past the first 15 minutes of the premiere.

I think Survivor is a great show. I did not begin watching until after the first 3 or 4 seasons. But when it debuted on OLN, I went back and watched all the seasons I missed. I still love the show. Last season was not one of my faves, but I felt it was still great, and it still got decent ratings even though it was not #1 in it's timeslot each week.

I am actually looking really forward to this, and I am the least racist/biggoted person on the earth. I think it's a great twist.

ITA. Like I said I believe we're all racist to different degrees, I really do, even if many of us won't admit it. It's human nature.

But to get back to Survivor, it is one of my favorite reality shows still(with BB), even if it's not as good as the first seasons, especially since they have stepped it up in the last seasons and the competitions are better. I for one am really hapy that it will be more culturally diverse, and will reserve judgement for when I see it. I doubt it will be canned and the ratings are still good(about 18 mill).
