This has been a weird obsession of mine since I started watching soaps. I like when days drag out - albeit not ridiculously - and new days should begin with new episodes. I find it to be a mistake when a day starts in the middle of an episode or even worse when each episode is a new day. 🤢 The benefit of the soap medium is that it lets you focus on every beat of the story (if the writer is talented). You shouldn’t “skip the beats” for novelty sake like prime time does.

I think Abby was supposed to be constantly torn between her two families. That kind of conflict was almost never played - or at least not efficiently given the show’s lame writing od the last 20 years. MO is no leading actress material, much like her predecessors were not either. I hope they recast and reinvent the character.

In terms of recasting, I'd understand. When it comes to a new soap, on the other hand... let's just say I see tons of opportunities for future trivias!

In the last 20 years, trends have shown opening credits being reduced to either one single card being zoomed in or an extremely stylish design composition (think what they do over at Elastic). I believe we can expect BTG to feature short opening credits, including graphics and an instantly-classic theme. Face cards are a no go in this era.

What in the world happened with Thomas/MA? Can someone fill me in?

You play a flashback on a streaming platform that people pay to join --> you pay a residual to the actors acting in that flashback. You post a thousand year old clip online where no one is making any money (for example, X) --> I don't see the moral obligation for a residual, sorry. Some people are forgetting the importance of archiving, which is why in 2024 we still have tons of soap episodes missing.

What residuals? These episodes were meant to air only once, maybe twice if they were extremely classic. By sharing clips you're giving the actors and writers a new chance to shine and be relevant.
