  1. Mike said on FB that YouTube shut down his channel because he posted the same thing multiple times (apparently not noticing the difference between the various GL episodes). Apparently it's part of a grand scheme on YT's side to get rid of non-creators and non-copyrighted material.

The Nathan situation certainly turned a somewhat repressed Olivia harder and more reserved.

The main issue was that she was married to Shemar Moore with his megaton popularity. Take the Callie story for example: After Nathan's dangerous cheating, it's certainly understandable why Olivia would overreact. But the show did not want Malcolm to come off badly AT ALL and therefore kept throwing Olivia under the bus for him. Over and over again.

    So true!

I have to say - although Olivia became so sanctimonious and annoying, I appreciated her character. I watch the shows to see different personalities and at times disagree with them. I like that she was so subdued and reserved. I miss her character.

I’m completely disgusted by Y&R’s Best Show Emmy won last night. They submitted the Kristoff St. John memorial episodes, which were excellent and featured a mostly black cast leading story. These actors are good enough for Emmy bait, but not good enough to lead story? After Kristoff’s memorial they all went off screen or to the back burner. They should’ve submitted episodes with the mostly white cast who actually got screentime.

I absolutely agree with you. I couldn't believe my own eyes. It's insulting. I'm disgusted too.

Carmen was a mess of a character, much like everything else Latham wrote. Dru/Neil were having marital problems before Carmen (mainly due to fining out Lilly was Malcolm's biological daughter), Carmen saw an opportunity there and tried to weave herself in.

Thank you. I don't think there was much thought put into the Carmen character. However I'll say that the "Of course you don't understand, you can't hear me" was a subtle way to show how condescending and ignorant she was. For all of Latham's fault, I think we were supposed to be on Dru's side.

  5. When MK joined that Locher room episode a few weeks ago, there was mention of a story where "Vanessa was temporarily played by another actress". It felt weird that MK would not mention AS. I am sure she is not someone to throw shade at a fellow actress, she's always kept it very classy. Still, it's not like Vanessa was played by multiple temp recasts over the years - it was pretty easy to remember AS.

For a white character, being paired with a black character is almost always a temporary detour until TPTB can find a suitable white partner for them. The black partner is a placeholder. You can tell TPTB don’t value a white character when a black partner is their endgame. Sad but true. I’d just prefer B&B invest more in a black male character than just plowing Steffy for a few months before being dispatched for Liam or $Bill.

    Sad but true...

I don't get why this is being made so complicated. Just don't write love scenes? People do know that tv shows were on the air for years without love scenes right? I don't see why stupid gimmicks like blow up dolls are necessary.

Focus on business stories - Forrester, Spectra, put Brooke back in the lab, get back to fashion. I don't get why this is so difficult to do for 4-6 months?

To be honest, blow up dolls and the rest of this foolishness takes far less creativity than actually writing a good quality story.

Brad has no talent though so of course this would be his solution. He can't go without a dumb triangle and random plot point hook up that amounts to nothing.

You have a point and I appreciate your take. I do agree with you. I just assumed that BB knows that sex scenes or affection scenes won’t be as many as before, he is just not ruling them out.

  8. I'm sorry, I see what's amusing about Bradley's plan but I think many people are taking it too far.

How were the shows supposed to make a comeback? At least Bradley is thinking outside the box, which is something I appreciate and stand up for. Who knows, maybe more shows than you think will follow suit. What else was Bradley supposed to do? Refuse to work? Have the characters mention COVID-19? Maybe, but then again Ridge and Brooke as spouses would be supposed to have contact.

Also - they say TV shows are life without the dull parts. Well, quarantine and social distancing are very dull parts right now.

According to Alan Locher on Facebook he has some Guiding Light writers he will be talking to next month.

Cross my fingers they're Nancy Curlee and Pamela K. Long

He did like a tweet I sent him where I specifically mentioned NC and PKL...
