I really used to respect Barbara, but that has eroded so much in the last 10 years, her being on this show has pretty much destroyed her reputation in my eyes. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

Yeah.... she kind of stepped in it when she jumped on the "Beyonce is faking her pregnancy" bandwagon, these pictures left her with egg on her face. I will say that I totally applaud Wendy for making her son do chores, and trying to raise him so he's not a spoiled trust fund baby. Barbara was SO INTO her waspy condescension, I thought it was ridiculous.

When your'e an Urban contemporary DJ, you should should know how to pronounce the name of the person who has the number one song in the country for a MONTH that was written by PRINCE. And she was also DJ'ing when the whole Pope fiasco happened. It was on the front page of USA today, the controversy was on the lips of everyone. You had to be dead not to be exposed to it.

How about the stars in the Nielsen top 20 shows? She wants dirt, she could have opened up the Muhney controversy.. we KNOW Y&R draws higher ratings than housewives. She could talk about actual celebrities with talent, or ones that are at least famous for something other than acting the fool in a modern day minstrel show. She should concentrate on movie stars, The Jacksons, Beyonce, Dionne's bankruptcy, Bobbie Kristina and all her drama, miley cyrus, the Robin thicke lawsuit, she could talk about some SOCIAL news issues, like civil rights things, etc. the list goes on and on. And she DOES at times, she just needs to drop the low hanging fruit. She don't need to entertain bigots like she does here: And I was STUNNED that someone that was a DJ in the 90's did not know how to pronounce Sinead O'Connor's name. WTF?

Then maybe she should quit talking about those tired bitches. I mean put it in perspective, the housewives ratings are barely up to the level of As the World Turns at time of cancellation. Wendy needs to discuss bigger fish. Unless these tacky cows are the only guests she can get?

Now I'm going to watch me some of that! I just got to try not to pee myself from laughing too hard!

I know... sad, ain't it? that nobody cares. Actually people do care... but theyr'e all over 35. Actually it's because I hope that the young generation can be convinced to demand something BETTER from their performers. If this kind of crap is passed off time after time, then music and pop culture will just continue into this downward spiral. Britney Spears and her no talent ass should not be in the position she is in the entertainment business, someone with true talent like Leann Rimes should be holding her position, or hell, even Aguilera (I may HATE her singing style, but she does have talent a real voice). I suppose you can say the same thing about all the soap opera threads where people bitch and bitch and bitch, and nothing ever changes or gets any better. I guess some people will pay good money to watch alot of flash and no substance. She seems to want to follow in Madge's footsteps, but doesn't have the talent to back it up. She certainly doesn't have the talent to sing live... but I know people today don't care about little things like that. I agree on all counts, except that Ashley/Brent Davis SL was VERY dramatic and made for amazing drama. I don't think it was a bad move at all. And he's not the first person to say that Brenda was playing herself. In the second run, she certainly was, but in her first run, as you could see, she certainly wasn't. It's too bad, and seeing how she now bleats about how hard the part was to play in the 70's, that tells me that she just got lazy and started playing herself. And the performances weren't nearly as good. Things are always better when you have to WORK at it.

This comment from Considine makes sense as to why we see Donnely Rhodes with a moustache and gray temples. Donnely Rhodes was only 2 years younger than Considine, but Rhodes was only 37 years old When he debuted, a full 10 years younger than Jeanne. Michael Muhney right now is a YEAR OLDER than Donnelly Rhodes was at the time, mull THAT around for a minute.

No, it's not Pat. So many are making that mistake, and totally understandable, as the actress who plays Hazel and Pat Carroll are pretty much Bobsie twins. They look so much alike, it's scary, but it's not her.

shielaforever, I had to laugh about Considine looking like a mexican gigolo! LOL In the 70's, you'll find the lighting varied from episode to episode, with everything taking a decidedly darker turn in 1975. Here you see the darker lighting in the Pierre/Sally scenes. Conboy did tend to light the Chancellor mansion brighter to show it off. I believe even with the live to tape episode they usually taped 2 weeks in advance, so the airdate most likely would have been February 2-6, around in there. They didn't do the "hearing the charcter's thoughts" in every episode, this was just a "theme" episode in that respect, but I like hearing the chraracters thoughts like that. The camera work had been perfected by 75, and everything had perfect dissolves and great shots. This was still early enough that this episode is one that Bill Bell wrote completely by himself, it shows how truly great he was.

And that's exaclty why he refused to go to 60 mintues, and CBS basically forced him into it. He had this show honed to a knife edge, and perfectly paced. And when it went to an hour, it struggled for 3 years to regain it's footing. Jeanne also was VERY critical of the show going to an hour, she even said it's one of the biggest reasons daytime is dying. And no, it's not Pat Carroll playing Hazel, but she is damn near Pat's twin, isn't she? I can't seem to find the name of the actress who plays Hazel. I'm dying to know exactly who she is.
