  1. That's interesting, didn't think of that ("titi Cristal"). The thing that I do think of whenever this reimagining crosses my mind is how faithful the show will be to the original when it comes to the Adams, the Amandas, the Dominiques... characters who had mysterious/surprise intros. You can't really do that twice. I mean, you can, but... I wonder if those characters will even make it to the new series, and if so, will the original back stories be glossed over.
  2. There used to be clips of her Jill on YouTube, but I couldn't find them just now. Bond:
  3. I think Brenda was ill, or some sort of contract kerfuffle? Jerry Douglas did one of those SOD stroll down memory lane photo interviews back in the mid-'90s. In reference to the picture of him and Deborah when she was a permanent recast, he said something to the effect that she was his favorite Jill. He loved the layers she brought to the role (this was pre-Jess, he was essentially comparing her to Brenda).
  4. Some casting news that showed up on my FB feed: http://deadline.com/2017/03/dynasty-rafael-de-la-fuente-cw-pilot-w-tre-davis-valor-1202039712/
  5. This still makes my jaw drop:
  6. I will watch this reimagining of the show in the same spirit with which I watched the "BTS" TV movie. Instead of letting myself be so bothered by this like that Jem movie, I'll keep in mind that this can't take anything away from my affinity for the original series. Just don't touch Sable.
  7. This opening was rather short-lived and similar to OLTL's Gottlieb champagne opening. I loved the Johnny Mathis but they saved the best for last with the Jeffrey Osbourne. I was working at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park a few months ago, and Nada Rowand's headshot hung on the wall of a local pub, Blind Lemon. I took a photo but apparently the file is too large to post.
  8. I really liked MB btw, there was a real charming ease about him. I can see what LG saw in him as part of that casting initiative.
  9. I was watching earlier, and the sight of them chucking those bundles of papers on that loading dock tripped me out. It's an oddly refreshing glimpse of blue collar reality, away from the flash of the offices.
  10. I saw The River at Spooky Action Theater in D.C. In the lead, Jeff Allin's bio, it read that he'd appeared on B&B for some years.
  11. Rick reminds me of a young Bob Woods. Claudia, isn't that Arthur Miller's sister, name escapes me at the moment. Viki's aunt Gwendolyn on One Life.
  12. What a handsome guy, that uncle Pork chop.
  13. Gotta love Ernie Anderson giving rival Dallas a shout-out. Love Krystle's outfit.
  14. I totally remember watching those Blondie and Dagwood, and Cathy specials that night, trippy. Geesh, I'm a little annoyed by how Laurin won't let up with the salacious line of questioning. Sure, Joan's partially responsible for her public image and she made loads of money thanks to it, but still... At any rate, Joan handles it well but one can sense that the Joan=Alexis cliché has become a little tiresome for her at this point.
  15. I guess Sadie, Wanda, maybe even Ina Hopkins, all had the potential to fill that role.
  16. That number choice certainly isn't coincidental?
  17. What a great incentive for me to learn Italian! "Buh-NUN-uhs" 😁. Yeah, not Carolyn, but funny nonetheless.
  18. Yes, Erica had it redecorated while living there after it was discovered that she and Adam were still legally married (she divorced him, married and divorced Travis, and was blackmailed into marrying Adam again... she made herself comfortable and stuck it to Adam by making over the mansion). I always thought that set remained too frou-frou for Adam for far too long, but the man had much bigger things going on.
  19. When I was little, there was a short-lived FOX sitcom called Women in Prison. My mother immediately pointed out that she was the first Skye and I questioned the accent. Antoinette's character on WIP was a "lipstick lesbian", pretty risqué I guess though I don't remember much beyond your typical sitcom gay punchlines.
  20. I saw them on Steve Harvey, a late night rerun, and I was so disgusted! It's not fair to judge people by their looks, but real talk, the woman just *looks* plain evil. And Tiffany was being so very very extra as usual it was hard to fully sympathize with her Bill Cunningham School of Acting performance. But no one deserves Sister Chupacabra.
  21. I seem to remember reading that Jaime Lyn Bauer and Susan Seaforth Hayes were also in contention for Stephanie.
  22. Seeing Andrew in these just reminds me again of how rare it is on soaps in the last 20 years to have strong characters who are also decent, caring people - people who represent humanity...especially male characters. That soaps became so contemptuous of this type of character is one of the reasons for the genre's fade into irrelevance. In her archive interview, Erika Slezak says something to this effect about the character of Joey. At the time of the interview, she missed his presence on the show, a genuinely kind soul who didn't have to be all about "pop" and "swagger".
  23. I am cracking up, particularly at your response. How on earth did you stumble upon this gem?
  24. I'll be saying All The Way, I have three friends in the cast. I'll report back.
  25. Margo, AMS' favorite forgotten character.
