Actually, I always thought Dorian was holding her pocketbook over her shoulder, didn't realize that was a lamp or whatever.

YES! Thank you thank you, brings back such memories! My brain did a good job of remembering those pictures.

I think they meant his brothers and sisters were all married and he wasn't
Ohhhh... I love how "Right Girl" is capitalized, not to be confused with confirmed bachelor.

WTF Anthony Ponzini is "married, but he's still looking for Right Girl." They gave not one single damn in the 60s, did they?
LOL, I know right!? I wonder if that was one of those jokes he had to explain in a later interview. Meanwhile, Niki Flacks is still single.

Peter de Anda, I think Ellen Holly was involved with him IRL, but don't quote me on that. Jack Crowder aka Thalmus Rasula will always be Raj and Dee's daddy to me.
Carole Shelley looks great in that Luna clip, that church hat. And Dorian looks like Queen Latifah meets Mondrian.

That is the most gorgeous picture of Ellen Holly I have ever seen, took my breath away.
Wow, did I know that Gillian Spencer went to RADA too? Of course Erika Slezak and Pamela Payton-Wright are graduates.

I'd love to see that Merv Griffin episode and hear that album track.
LOL, that remark about the gangly girls in high school still looking gangly no matter how far they've come is kinda bitchy. Was Susan a Mean Girl? Well, she did say in an interview that she was haughty and self-centered in her youth.

I can hardly believe that Robin Christoper was only 22, that makes me feel SO FRIGGIN' OLD!
Carl, this is an awesome Susan article.

Erika Slezak's 25th Anniversary
Once upon a time, years before YouTube, ABC Daytime had a great AOL site and this was one of the many avi. files available to download. The show seemed so classy then, just like the 25th anniversary montage Erika narrates. Her voice and speech just ooze class and elegance, gives me chills:

Just 12 years short of that next 25.

I was wondering the same thing about Mark's finger.
I remember Robin talking about Andrea's bichons on her Hotline wishing she could bring in her own dogs like in the old days before the rules changed.
There is so much denim going on!

Those are great Cheap. I though R.J. was Jamie's grandfather though.

There's a bit of an optical illusion in that pic with Leo in the sunglasses where it looks like he's marrying Laura and leaving pregnant Greenlee in the dust.

Gotcha!
That is one of the more flattering pics of Laura. She looks like Jessica Tuck there. That pic of them all bundled up in the bed is a hoot, the looks on their faces especially dork Cameron and Esta looking like a woman three times her age who'd had some unfortunate work done.

And to think little baby Andreas is in there hearing that crazy eyed man yell at his mommy.
Carl, isn't there a pic of Susan holding the baby on the cover of that issue? I remember seeing it in the grocery store and thinking she had had a baby in real life who was playing Bianca.

CVD looks like Cliff Warner in that pic.

Oh my God, that picture of Mr. Mitchell in his bedroom is just too dear for words.

Is it sad that I want to know what everybody's drinking in that pic?
Tom and those birth control pills, I'm surprised Dick didn't pop something shooting those scenes!

Carl, when you get a chance, would you please post that ad from Episodes that I love with Erica and Dorian (Elaine Princi) talking on the phone? I guess in this thread or the AMC one or both.
Thanks in advance!

I was doing a play in college and our guest director was giving us an opening night prep talk when he relayed an anecdote saying, "While doing a play in Washington, an actor who you all really should know, by the name of Al Freeman, Jr." and in my head I was like, "Oh my GOD, of COURSE I know him..." I later went up to our director and said that I of course knew AFJ and asked if he knew Ellen Holly, and he said that he did indeed, he'd been in a production of The Scottish Play where she'd played Lady M.... I swear to you, stuff like that for me is like Deniro and Streep for others...

I guess she was gone before Clint? But she certainly knows Dorian. In an interview, Anthony Call mused about his fond memories on set, Judith and Robin doing impromptu banter as old Jewish ladies.

edgeofnight, you encapsulated all of those familiar details of Susan's life in the warmest way I've ever read.

That scene's where I got my old signature line: "Oh please, look at me! Now, do I look wounded? No, not to-day." I first watched that episode one afternoon at the Paley Center.

I love that when I Google Image searched for Ellen Holly, most of the results were from articles Carl posted on this site. Thank you Carl, thank you so much for your contribution.

I'd never watched a full episode of Search For Tomorrow a day in my life, but the first time I watched that clip of Stu ask Jo what she was searching for, I got the church chill bumps, a huge lump in my throat, and my eyes filled with water. This was with absolutely no context of that show. I don't know how I'm going to fare on that fateful day in September.

Me too. I remember people posting about how much they wished they could see clips of her and now look at how spoiled we've been.
