Omg! All this sounds incredible to me. I have to watch this kitty/kelly saga before i die lmao. Just from that promo posted a few pages back, 78/79 feels like a different show to me.

Yea. Im one to believe the dip was because of the loss of fan favorites jenny, liza, nina and opal( who brought a large portion of the humor). The show was bloated though, all those comedic side characters. Im not at all surprised the ratings went up during Natalie's rape trial, and Julie running away to new york. Do you happen to know what storyline pushed AMC to number one in 1978/79? Was it the Eddie Dorrance murder?

@Pine Charles it was well deserved. Not sure why "Most improved show" because i remember 86 being very good too, that was the year of Erica/Jeremy/Natalie triangle taking center stage. Cortlandt manor was the main draw of 87, yea i believe she was writing the show at that time. Lorraine just get it! Secrets, scandals, affairs = soapy goodness; she lowkey redid this storyline with Jr/ Annie/Brooke/Adam too!

Really good episode. I was enjoying all the storylines, 87 wasn't that bad of a year imo. Ross and Natalie affair was so hot and steamy, they should have let them pushed forward with it instead of making ross rape Natalie. I was very intrigued by the jesse/Yvonne/angie story too. I adore the character of julie, I wish Beth Elhers was brought on as Julie chandler recast.

Bell soaps does its best work with dark & eerie storylines imo. Deveney and Sheila Carter!!!!

Agreed! Another case of TPTB making bad decisions based on who was fooling around behind the scenes. @Elsa True. And I think they was going to get a prime time finale too! Chrishelle and Ricky were the only ones that got to film their scenes.

@FrenchBug82 well that’s certainly fair and You’re right, more could have been done for certain characters I.E. Kendall and Tad (career wise). It would have been nice to see someone boarding a train to start their next chapter. Lorraine tied up things nicely with what she had, centerpiece of the grand finale about Erica/Brooke/JR were all genius to me.

@LeClerc Wow! I believe this to be true. It lines up with what Cameron said in his interview, without really saying it. Smh, the backstage politics win again. All those idiots played a part into ruining my show and getting it cancelled! @FrenchBug82 @John I’m ok with the way AMC ended. It was always the unconventional soap anyway, happy endings are lame and unrealistic imo.

That’s all still possible. Cameron said he wasn’t sure if she wanted to go or not. He was just told a bit before her. He was sad they did that to her. It’s still messed up imo either way. I’m always left disappointed or underwhelmed when any of these soap fans interview talent from AMC, they never feel like real fans of the show imo. I just got done listening to a Cameron Mathison interview with the same podcast. -He mentioned Alicia Minshew and Kelly Ripa are also apart of the E! Special. -He claims to not know much about Pine valley pilot. Ask the host what did they know. -Of course talked about Greenpea/Rebecca. -He spoke a little about him being told Esta was being let go, and they asked him not to say anything. 🤨🤔🧐 That didn’t sit right with me at all! I need to know how that decision was made cause I’m sure she was in the top 5 most popular on the show at the time of her death! -He discussed his time working Marcy Walker/Liza. A storyline I loved (He did too!) and rooted for, I liked them together and it felt right for both characters to move forward.

Yes! That was the rumor before Dixie had died. I think her death is what changed it!

AMC Demon seed Kathy Martin in 2008. I liked the route they were taking her, it felt fresh, interesting and fun. Definitely could have opened up some character driven for the entire Martin to play.

@Chris B I’m doing the same with Santa Barbara. I gave it ten episodes and just jumped right into Marcy walker introduction. Hoping for the best though.

@FrenchBug82 I definitely feel you on that. Maybe they’re reuniting anyone who was on the show. All of the characters have been on the show at the same time and cross paths before but it would make more sense to reunite people who shared storylines. I’m not mad at “All my children”getting this prime time level press. I did think Who did Jr shoot? Was a clever ending and probably helps keeps the show fresh in our minds. Just not sure why they keep acting like the reboot didn’t happen. if I’m doing a reunion I’m reuniting fake silver Kane and Erica Kane, the entire 80s teen set including Alfred and Amanda, etc.
