  1. I think Fulton did really well in the lawsuit storyline..and back in the day when she came back to the show preMarland and she was the McColl matriarch. But she was TERRIBLE during the Dobsons's second go around and later years..i think when she was bored or felt that the material wasnt good she chewed the scenery to get attention...when she felt comfortable she was okay. I loved LIsa but yea, Fulton's stuttering and jitterness could be annoying. Funny thing is, she always did well with Wagner, it seems Wagner was to Fulton like Nancy was to Lisa....My favorite line of the last five years..."Your NOT helping things DEAR!"
  2. The Vicky Spaulding in the 90/00s was a different character than the one introduced in 1984. Victoria Tamberlaine was introduced in 1984 as the daughter of Brandon and Sharina. Vicky Spaulding was Victoria Tamberlaine's daughter. When Vicky showed up and was revealed to be Brandon's granddaughter, there was a throwaway line that Victoria Tamberlaine was dead. Which was reversed during Taggart's run in the "First Wive's Club" episodes. Alan mentions to Phillip that they have "Victoria's" and Vickies vote against Alex..(which doesnt make sense as Alex and Victoria both shared Brandon's death. But then, they casually make Amanda Alan' daughter again around then..or least he referred to her as his daughter. Vickie Spaulding was a wasted effort. She could have been the first balls out business bitch who secretly resented the white privledge of the Spauldings and worked against them. She actually did nothing really. wait seriously??? Yes, I have no idea if that was intentional or if it was mistake or if they thought it was too complicated to refer to her as his sister but they did. I just wish he and Alex would have a scene where they discussed that situation as "Brandon's last sick joke on us" and that a blood test rectified things.
  3. Loud, obnoxious, over bearing, preening, annoying, self righteous, chip on his shoulder...all of those would make up a human with faults if anyone was allowed to call him on it, but everyone acted like he was the hero. Even Kim couldn't give him a buster when he was yelling at her! Before their was Lily, there was Steve, the biggest Mary Sue of them all! I do think they should have just killed him off as he was protecting Betsy or Dani. However, I do love the scene where Jame Stenbeck punches Steve to the ground!

  5. I don't think that Marland ever wrote for Frank or Maggie..I think they left before his tenure, and to be fair, their story was over...(especially with career driven Maggie getting baby fever.) I think Maggie would be a character he would like to write for.
  6. It's Cricket Montgomery (Lisa Loring) and Cody Sullivan (Beau Gravitte). LOL..as if that promo would bring viewers in!!..(but I have to wonder, were they going to a rodeo or something???) I have to say, the overacting maniac on SFT really wanted me to see the rest of this storyline which I am sure would be a hoot!
  7. Hated John and Emma...it made no sense....(it was kind of like Holly and Buzz on GL later...just put together as they were in the same age range...) The scene I always remember is the feet scene...where Emma comes downstairs in her robe and tells John, right in front of her kids....to come up stairs and they can rub their feet together to keep warm....not something I wanted to think about at all!!! What made no sense was..I am from farm country, in Illinois too...and farmers are extremely conservative..and there was no way a farmer widow would be banging the town doc and flaunting it in front of her grown children. They also could have had conflict with Emma's earthy conservative "values," and John's sometimes still amoral attitude. But no, it was all about their kids and keeping their middle aged gross feet warm! Why did Marland break up John and Lucinda? They were gold and John and Iva were as dull as dishwater...and why did no one in the later years get those two together???They wouldnt even need a storyline they would have just been the anti Bob and Kim and bickering and rolling eyes at each other and everyone else in town.
  8. There has to be some backstage things going on with Runyeon at this time. I remember the previous producer would let no one touch him, even in a fight scene, as he was "the star of the show."I also remember Runyeon (to his credit) talking about when he left ATWT he thought he was all that and when he went to SB and apparently didn't work out, he fell to earth. I am sure he was not HAPPY about Marlands embrace of the entire cast ensemble and the core characters..(especially that Marland created a Kim who would NOT take Steve yelling at her..God I would have love a "kiddo" scene between Steve and Kim.... One wonders how Marland would have handled Zimmer!!!
  9. I loved Katie and Henry scheming...I never could figure out why they made her a romantic heroine and him, well, straight. Best case would have been Katie as the continued scheming comic relief character pain in the butt to Bob and Kim (who would consider her family since her mother was not in town) and Margo...and Henry as an out gay sometimes ally sometimes nemises of hers. Rose should have lived and Lily should have died...
  10. How did they write Ellen out? Was it like mentioned and living in town but never seen like when Wagner left, or did she go visit Penny? Why did they write her out? How did they write the Judge out, did he die. I remember in an episode with the Greg Marx Tom, during one of Fulton's times off, they talk about Alma like she is alive..did she just disappear one day?
  11. LOL..yes all the Andropolous men were a**holes! Watching this and knowing what is going to happen in the future with Mr. and Mrs. Pinter I think..."No Babs..run away!" I liked it when Lisa had her own little family that she would meddle with. I actually liked her and Brian's step relationship..they should have brought some of the McColl's back as you can't imagine Diana not getting into trouble in her life post Oakdale and Lisa getting involved. Poor Maggie..I wish she had told them all to go to hell!
  12. I agree about MZ but again, there was a LOT of issues there. What they did was WRONG, no doubt about it but I can see their issue.. it is a horrible illness and to watch him slowly go down..plus hard as hell to write 6 weeks out as you never know how it progressives. I don't have the answer but yes, they should have treated him with respect at the end. And after he died they should have wrapped Roger up as others on this board wrote as ways to do so. And Holly and Roger should have found closer and peace..but no walking off into the sunset ala Josh and Reva.
  13. Oh God, I had forgotten Charlotte Wheaton.. LOL...and the killer was...her sister (who we didn't know was her sister) bit part character Alicia whatever her name was who was a cliche scum raking TV reporter. But that at least involved the hospital and the Bauers...we were just getting ready to get the Infinity Gang and those damn double rings and Billy hypnotized to kill Kyle and the bad acting of Malloy..."Brother, BROTHER!" I never liked Malloy or Kyle but I thought they should have brought a recast Kyle back latter on to cause problems for Reva and Josh and we needed another rich baddie as Alan was getting tired and cliched. Yes, McTrash was the braniac behind Lonatrat. I think the idea was good, like Roger drugging Dinah to keep her in line and then lock her up to keep her trust fund, and then Dinah turning the tables...only I would have had her thinking she turned the tables, Rog knows all along, but it does lead up to a confrontation with Hart, where Roger actually DOES think he killed him...( I would have an accident where he goes over the cliff but does survive) and then Roger has a mental breakdown for a bit..all his past crimes coming back to him, etc. Holly would be the only one to pull him out of the hole. It would have touched on the fact that everyone, really thinks that Roger is really one step from being a maniac..especially the people who kenw him during his original reign of terror. But it was all cartoony with Dinah of all people getting one over on Roger...(when Alan, Alex, Billy, Vanessa, etc were barely able to..) However, Holly and Roger should NEVER have had a happy ending. They could have closer and an ending, but not a happy going into the sunset ending. I think Holly's happy ending should not have been Ed...(who was always really a friend above anything else) but for her deciding she needed no one in her life (romantically) she liked being a journalist and business owner and she has her own money and she is fine alone. What a different thing for a soap which has to pair everyone off.
  14. I didn't mind Bradley Cole when he was Richard but Jeffrey never did 'it' for me. Jeffrey was too skeevy for my taste. How about when he was the supposed "stud," of SF and he screwed Beth on top the Spaulding Den Desk...(I can imagine what BevAlex would have to say about that..."Even BLAKE didn't stoop that low!" ) where Alan's coffee and muffins were waiting for him, and then we see a close up of Alan taking a big bite out of one....I have no idea what that was for but I HATED Jeffie from then on...(who could forget the Japanese restaraunt he did Beth in...GL under Conboy went retro Skinamax...
  15. Because, he didn't have all those fruitcakes..most of them middle aged housefraus, who were in love with the actor like they were Mr. Brad Cole! What good is an interesting use of history when you have fans who are crazily dedicated to an actor...not that they ever brought the ratings up.
  16. Good God that Lady Parts thing is so....weird!!! I sat through the one with Hurst and they acted like she wrote War and Peace..Otalia was boring, made no sense and the two had little to no chemsitry. ....plus that show looks like a couple of hippie's decided to film a show that no one else cared about on their ugly couch!
  17. Well they should've kept the two this way going years forward. I don't mind MB's Lily during this time b/c she was at least a brat but not as preachy as she'd later become. When it comes to Holden, there are no complaints from me about him in the episodes I am watching as of late. I like him being lustful and raunch and I am questioning why Lily didn't jump his bones sooner. Especially, when he was on that bed shirtless, stroking that cat. I (personally) would've gotten rid of the cat and had some alone time with Holden. I can't believe they put shirtless Holden on the bed...petting a cat! Not too subtle there. The episode was good and really flew by..I forgot how bitchy Lucinda was and forget that Iva had balls back then. The actresses chemistry was great..I loved Lucy grabbing her (a bit of Hubbard improv?) and Iva pushing on back. Iva became such a drip later. All the fire that Marland put into the characters seemed to have been drained in a few years. Real Margo and Tom with energy...(forgot them like that Dolan and that other guy turned them into such drips.) I actually thought Holden was hotter older but I know I am in the minority.
  18. Wow who knew Lily and Holden could be kinda sick and sexy??? In Marland's bible or outline proposal for his first few years..Lily was much bitchier and spoiled, even swinging a riding crop at Holden who then uses it on her. I don't know if its because of Byrne...(who never seemed sexy to me...) or because Marland made Lily the Mary Sue to end all Mary Sues...but they changed that. That scene reminded me of when Holden had sex (unknown to him) with Rose and thinking it was Lily said..."I didn't think you were into that???" One could only guess what "that" was....but poor Holden, stuck with misonary position Lily his married life.
  19. I probably stopped watching the show about a year or two into Sheffer. I liked him at first...but then...I picked up watching again at the very end. Weird, no matter how bad GL was I kept watching but I just could not watch ATWT. God, how I would have loved a good old fashioned over acting Justin Deas death bed scene....it would have given me so much joy after years of that voice schreeching from my screen. But I could not have stood the funeral, as you know he would have had more attention then Bert Bauer...
  20. Not true, Mitch. The videos of the scattering of Alan's ashes and Lewis boys fishing are available online. Definitely different locations. The Lewises were shown fishing in a brook (likely filmed in Peapack). Alan's ashes were scattered from a beach along a lake (likely Lake Mohawk in Sparta, NJ, which was the filming location for the double weddings). Brooks like the one Guiding Light used are quite common in that area of New Jersey (my late aunt lived right next to one) and are quite popular for fishing. LOL..it looked like a good old midwestern drainage ditch to me!! Speaking of Alan's ashes...why the hell would Buzz Cooper be sticking his fat head in the scene? First he takes over the Billy Van wedding with his open maw gum chewing and then Alan's funeral. Why did they not kill Buzz off..I would have gone off happy! I never saw the cornfield opening and I don't know who half those people are!!! Shows how invested in the show I was.
  21. What was the "Corn field," opening?? Was that the boring and depressing one with the geese flying that made the show look so dull and out of date? I LOVED the toliet flushing one...I never thought of it as that until someone brought it up here. I think (besides the flushing noise) the theme was kind of classy and majestic like the old dame of the show should be. But I have to give Bunim and Company credit that they did create the best theme with the "World Keeps Turning" one. They should have just updated that one..but I still think they should have kept JFP's GL opening and just tweaked it once in a while. And P.J. they did not dump Alan's ashes off a beach ...it was a bad drainage ditch then that they used...earlier they had the Lewis boys fishing out of the damn thing! Who would have eaten the fish??? They also had that Chippendale's dancer looking guy who they unaccountedly hooked up with Mel, fighting someone in that ditch, so we could have poor Mel hose the mud off so that off course, we could get a shirtless wet shot of him. That is the kind of ditch that as kids we would play around and try to drown barbies and float toy boats and if our one of our Mom's found out she would yell, "Get away from there you know its full of people's CRAP!!!" (which wasn't true but I could never watch a scene with that damn ditch without thinking someone should have yelled that at the characters. I
  22. I forgot Ryder was actaully "Teddy!" That would have been great to have Joyce try to come back in his life, and slowly turn him against the Hughes...all the while maybe living with Bob and Kim. I woulda loved to see Kim give Joyce a big KIDDO! Joyce "Wow, and I used to think LISA was the bitch!"
  23. LOL..I remember watching that day...and thinking, who is that new character dusting the blinds...is she a maid? If the TPTB couldn't have been more obvious that this is a different character with the same name and she has been changed to Batten's "style." And really, I never liked Connor or the actress that much to big with but it was weird. Wasnt she messing around with the big blond muscle guy with the gay haircut then? ATWT was so weird then I can't remember.
  24. While I hated Labine's time on GL..you could see some good ideas in there...(minus Blake as a minister...) I don't think she was fit for GL but she tried...her best work was getting rid of Carmen...(for a while) and putting Claire in as the buttinsky mom in the Danny Michelle thing. She did great bringing back Aunt Meta and Meta taking charge and writing Claire's beads...but you could tell the show wasnt invested in that. Other stuff was just stupid, like Buzz and Billy fighting over Holly..it was like..."Oh they are the same age., lets put em together.." Other stuff showed a glimmer of hope...but it just seemed like someone was changing things..(Rauchie??) like the cigar girl turned FBI agent (who I read she wanted to be Nola's kid which would have been interesting, especially since she screwed her cousin's husband...) She may have done well with ATWT as someone mentioned, the vets especially...(I think LIsa would have gotten her old spunk and sense of humor back...)
