Yes, you've understood & described what is wrong comparing to the past which was definitely right. What in the heck is the problem? Oh, I know it's the way Frank produces this show. Did you, any of you, see Mo's IG from Sunday. Well, it's him reminiscing about when he first began, had a crisis & quit but Riche, who is an amazing EP, between herself & Shelley Curtis, got with him, found out what was actually the hell going on & basically said, No, we do not accept your resignation, we are going to get to the bottom of this thing & you ARE going back to work at General Hospital. Now, MO has told this tale, true, but still a tale, maybe a thousand times but now he has planned out what to say & when to say it & also he has set it to music. Plus he stressed that he's been at this for now 32 years.

I have consistently disliked her through at least 4 shows, I think! Loved both Bundy & Billy Kay! But, in general, I do like kids on soaps & I also specifically love some of the precocious ones. GH Young Robin, Young Emma & now although he doesn't check off the precocious box but I'm not kidding James is one of my favorites on the show. Now I could not stand Violet! So even I have a line drawn in the sand on overly precocious! A Marah I loved that y'all won't is Peldon. I think she may have been overly precocious even younger that GH Kimberly McCullough if that is even possible. And, now I offer this as proof https://www.instagram.com/p/DIhwI8HJGLj/ People always want to see things like this, so don't even worry about some strict reckoning over topicality. IOW thanks for sharing.

Very cool. I did a double major, English & Comimunications. I started a third, Journalism. Always! She's meant to be a nod to Amy Iving (?) Amy someone played by Shell Kepler, but it does not work, not at all.

Oh, no, you never warmed up to Rachel Minor, that's too bad. I loved Budig as Greenlee but not as Michelle. I thought she was the least talented of all the Marahs. I found her performance to be very shallow & in fact the only thing I found credible was when she being a bitch. The only one who talks weird now that Violet is gone is Charlotte with her Pah-Pah , which I believe to be universally hated!!! Meanwhile I love James. He is perfect. The young promise of that Michelle & Bryan Buffington's Young Bill, were so magical!!

ALL: General Retro Soap Discussion
A fan on my soap opera group on FB found this almost forgotten gem: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/abc-daytime-soaps_b_851989?fbclid=IwY2xjawJskdJleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHmGk5zLeXvePdsx2ReyMnIVBas7RKnmnjFQ0pKnbpp_np3E2Nl45TFzUFxyH_aem_9Nhs3D_Mr73HOxwVJvD6ew I don't know who this Ed Martin guy is, but, boy, was he ever right on the money! Quoting it in whole because you never know when something from a defunct site might vanish.

December 1989 & January 1990
https://www.instagram.com/p/DHe65E6pwsF/ This does not fall in your date range but it's close & Beth & Philip are in it & this link is to an edit I did, so it's just a clip BUT I do have the full episode if it would be of any use to you. March 5, 1990, an Alex dinner party. Keywords: family of cannibals and pass Beth the butter.

My mother loved her soaps but she was also "addicted" to her game shows & she particularly adored Wink. I believe her favorite of his was "High Rollers".

AGREED! Gina T is one person I'd like to see cast in some good show, preferably one that I watch. I'm fairly critical of writing, too, but I don't remember having a problem with GT's Dinah Doings. Trying to think, was there an orphan boy from the Balkans where everything was just too pat? And, I do have some reservations because I gather that she participates in an online prayer group & they are regularly praying for the right part to come her way. Within some common sense boundaries I think people should practice their faith however works best for them but personally it's not a thing I would do. Which sounds like what the OP posted. Each sounds plausible. & they are weirdly similar, too. In the version of events I heard he said, "We all know this isn't going to happen & we know why." because the writers were busily crafting a story where Holly would re-enter his life & end up taking his final journey with him so his primary motivation was to say, STOP.

https://www.tvinsider.com/1186667/game-show-host-wink-martindale-dead-91 It's been maybe 2 weeks since I said that Wink Martindale was the only one of the slew of game show hosts there used to be on daytime mornings, still alive.

Agree but I don't think his rugged, good looks were ever a or the problem, ya know?!!! LOL Oh, so you think she has this fiduciary position over the Cassadine "trust" & by accessing the funds, she is actually embezzling from her client, that it? I'm not sure. I thought the set-up showed that the Greek leadership stole the money from Ava, so returning it to her would be the right thing to do rather than the wrong thing. Why do I feel like we're thinking about this more than the writers?!!!

I'm sorry but I think that is crazy talk. Why? What client has she failed to serve well as an attorney? She made a personal decision (that I happen to disagree with) but why would making a bad personal decision mean you should lose the use of law degree & career?

Two quotes, related to two different recent conversations. "Then I had these wonderful fans who loved the show & it is really amazing, really quite a phenomena, because those fans outwardly they looked like pretty simple folk, typical ladies, but they are amazingly bright & so appreciative when they know you are giving them everything you've got. Audiences are like that. Hollywood, whoever Hollywood is, keeps forgetting audiences aren't stupid!" - Victoria Wyndham about AW "We got a lot of good, basic advice on drama & story from Bob Short & Ed Trach at Procter & Gamble. Besides my parents, they taught us as much as we learned from anyone." - The Dobsons 2000 interview
