  1. Tomorrow I'm going to have to write Elana Levine an email. Agnes beat Irna to ABC by a full 2 years. Of course Irna was at every place else before Agnes & Agnes wouldn't have been there if not for Irna - but that doesn't matter. Very good.
  2. Well, that horrible example of the network switching to "Heidi" at a nail-biter moment of a football game tended to color the decisions that were made after that.
  3. This is a hodgepodge because it's that kind of promo, but I wanted to share it because it includes Nicole halfway in & halfway out, on the window sill & Victor strides purposefully across the room and
  4. I know that the show sent actors to Toronto to events so perhaps it was #2 there & they were promoting. I used to be on email listservs with Canadian fans & they only talked about 2 soaps - AW & Y&R! They were passionate about both!
  5. WOW! Jason, it's like you're a cultural anthropologist who dabbles in linguistics, all rendered mathematically. But I think I'll just call you a Nielsen Natterer. Yes, AW was the #1 soap in some provinces & the #2 soap in some other provinces, where it was carried, of course. Canadian AW fans were so furious that their ratings didn't count. They felt disenfranchised.
  6. I'm also of the opinion that it's important to be careful when discussing queer folk in public.
  7. California was one of the fictional locations, not physical locations.
  8. Just so you know, I have run this by some folks from BITD to see if they have any independent memory of it but too soon to have heard back yet. I also ran a quick check at DL where they were celebrating his birthday & there was not one word about this so I may be wrong. I'm exploring the idea.
  9. Judi was in #SoapTwitter for about 3 days around last weekend & she really stayed & really engaged with many people. And she was delightful!! But, I got a sense for how much she hears, "We know you love playing Bonnie but we really really miss Adrienne!" And, this is Salem so why can't she come back from the dead?!!! She seems to really GET THAT & would be fine if Adrienne were to be ALIVE. Of course she is one smart cookie so she may just know how to handle fans.
  10. Well, this is so weird. So, I emailed the Paley Ctr about what episodes I might have seen there in 2000 from AW 1964. I got an email back pretty quickly, 2 days! So, what they have now is NOT first week. Ho hum.
  11. You said, "I have never read anything about David Oliver being fired at all let alone for being gay." So, I attempted to address both issues. His dying of AIDS-related illness relates to his being gay. Only, of course. I should think that would be obvious. And, it was common knowledge that he was a victim of one of the purges & was fired for being gay. So, common knowledge for both. I'm sorry that I don't have a cite for you, but in this instance I simply do not. You certainly can consider this disputed knowledge if you choose to.
  12. I keep advocating for them to hire Stephen Schnetzer as Julie's brother Steven Olson.
  13. Look at this fabulous picture someone just tweeted. What a good DAYS day.
  14. Yeah, as a matter of fact I tried that with one of my submissions & it was declined for having too many words in it. I mean, GMAB! 🤔😧😦🤬 What I posted was very very similar. Great minds do think alike!! 🤣🤣
  15. As you know I set out to correct the idea that Beverlee McKinsey had the first star billing, rather than the last, and one of the places was her IMDb page. Well, it turns out it is amazingly difficult to do! I have just this morning submitted by 3rd correction & I think this one will go. Here's how it laid out: McKinsey, Beverlee Trivia - Replace Old - McKinsey's character, Iris Cory Carrington Delaney Bancroft, on [link=tt0057731] proved so popular that she was made the star of the soap's spin-off series, [link=tt0080290]. McKinsey remains the only star on daytime television to be given star billing in a soap opera. New - McKinsey's character, Iris Cory Carrington Delaney Bancroft, on [link=tt0057731] proved so popular that she was made the star of the soap's spin-off series, [link=tt0080290]. McKinsey remains the last star on daytime television to be given star billing in a soap opera. It includes her face & the words "Starring Beverlee McKinsey".
  16. Okay, great! Your descriptions of him are just more swashbuckling than mine! I think yours are better!
  17. I don't think there's a movement afoot to make something out of GH's Carly & Jason connection. My gosh it was 18 years ago that she played Carly #2 & she's done lots more stuff since then. If Alarr hired her back to try to exploit Carly & Jason I think he was stupid as well as being a bully, an abuser, manipulative, etc. Tamara is just an excellent actress who looks great that they seem to waste her talents. At least so far this is not as bad as making pasta for Rafe endlessly. Although I have no use for Burton. @Errol I finally got a DM reply from Alan Sarapa where he said he had no idea what the amount of the fine was but that it was substantial enough that they would not want to make that mistake again. So he is of the opinion that such a fine existed.
  18. You're welcome! I've been enjoying them so!! When he steps over Carly to get the newspaper & just keeps on going, I laugh my head off!
  19. I feel like you think I'm being negative about him or critical, when I am not. But I first learned about him in this therialtoreport.com/2017/06/25/wade-nichols/ and I found him to be so interesting that I tried to find out more & often I listen to his music on YouTube. If I got something factually wrong, I'm sorry but what I said is reflected in what I read about him. And, of course the fact that EON knew & didn't care but P&G of course did care & did not like it one bit, is just of interest because I'm a soap fan. And I can see how your description of him as a performer in several genres is apt.
  20. For a time they regularly used a blue filter. It drove me buggy. The air in Salem was blue! Then, one day the air was clear & they had stopped using the blue filter. Thank God! Shades of Larry, Curly & Moe! It's been years since I've thought of that. We used to say it all the time. Slowly they turned ... step by step. ... Hilarious sketch.
  21. I'm sorry. This is a case of it being so long ago that I no longer recall. However, it was common knowledge BITD among some AW fans & Charles used to talk to him & would tell fans how he was doing but perhaps the best confirmation for you would be his cause of death as listed on Eddie Drueding's AWHP which is AIDS related illness.
  22. I'm on Day 5 of my petition drive to get a Posthumous Emmy for Beverlee McKinsey. If you haven't signed I urge you to do so! They've given some Posthumous awards & I think Beverlee is exceptionally deserving!! Thanks for your consideration! https://chng.it/WVxjPPpL82

  24. The flip side of that is that lesbians have an invisibility factor. @danfling The two DS actors you mentioned? Both are straight. I got it from a gay man who is a rabid DS fan.
